Ep 41 ComicPop Visits with Rhonda Rees about Book Piracy

The ComicPop Crew had the pleasure of visiting with Rhonda Rees on a topic she has had personal experience with, in part 1 of our interview.  Rhonda is the author of Profit and Prosper with Public Relations: Insider Secrets to Make You a Success, which was pirated.  With her recent accolades: Publicist of the Year from the Book Publicists of Southern California; an IRWIN Award (Industry Recognition of Writers in the News); and most recently Rhonda has been the recipient of the Publicist of the Year Award from the Bulldog Reporter, she has set about to educate the industry on the real threat of book piracy that exists not only for the big press, but for the small press as well.

Many thanks to Rhonda for taking the time from her busy schedule to visit with ComicPop Library we had a fun time.  Stay tuned for the second part that will forth coming.

Young Avz Sings About “This Love”

young

Young Avz is sharing with us his single “This Love”.  The single has a pop/rap feel that uses Young Avz’ voice to it’s advantage.  The music video that was made for the single was done by Young Avz himself and really has an Empire feel to it (if you haven’t seen the show you are missing our on the drama!)  Thanks to Raphael and Young Avz for sharing the music video ‘This Love” through Young Avz’ YouTube channel and the single is available through iTunes – Richard:

John Dillion’s Single “The Fox”

John Dillon released his single “The Fox” from his upcoming album The Lost Estate.  “The Fox” has a alternative rock sound to it and the way John’s voice is and the rhythm of the song, “The Fox” comes across a little reminiscent of The Cars.  The Lost Estate is John’s debut album and will drop on March 25, so keep an eye on the digital music vendors.  You can check out John’s “The Fox” through SoundCloud that he has been kind enough to share with the ComicPop listeners – Richard:

Adam Jensen debuts “Sandcastles”

blackpandaPRadam1

Adam Jensen is sharing his debut single “Sandcastles” with the ComicPop Library listeners.  “Sandcastles” is a nice clean and clear pop single.  Adam’s voice is strong and confident.  The music compliments his voice not the other way around.  I also love the instrument play he has in this single.  He is playing around with sound and I like it.  It also gives the single an alternative feel.  Many of us will also appreciate the lyrics and relate to them.  Adam is still working on an EP that he plans on releasing later this year and if this is an indication of what will be on it I’m definitely interested in hearing more.  Check out Adam Jensen’s “Sandcastles” through SoundCloud, I think you will like it – Richard:

We have spotlighted Elephant 12 a couple of times and done a review podcast for them as well.  I really like their energy and I think most of you will to.  With all of this they wanted to share with our listeners their latest release “All Aboard” from the Hellophantastic EP.  The EP is available so show your support by downloading their album.  Here is Elephant 12’s “All Aboard” through SoundCloud – Richard:

The Classic Kids Release Music Video for “Drive”

blackpandaPRClassic kids

The Classic Kids is sharing with ComicPop Library listeners again.  This time they are giving us their music video for their new single “Drive”.  This is another fun song that everyone will get into and have fun with, especially for the fans of 1980’s – 90’s music.  They do a nice call back to that time, which I lived through so I really enjoyed this and their other singles.  Check it out the “Drive” music video through The Classic Kids YouTube channel – Richard:

Jessica Rotter Latest Single “Pray for Rain”

jessica

Jessica Rotter charted at #1 on Hype Machine with her single “Stay/Animal” with Emily Colombier.  With this accomplishment in her back pocket Jessica is moving forward with her latest single “Pray for Rain” that is the first release of her upcoming album Plains.  “Pray for Rain” has a Pop feel to it that has an enjoyable light beat that immediately grabs you.  Her voice has, what I would call, Alto range that comes through strong and clear and compliments the music well.  Jessica is sharing “Pray for Rain” with us through SoundCloud and most everyone will enjoy this single.  If this is an indication of what the album, Plains, will sound like keep an eye on the digital vendors begin on April 22 to pick it up – Richard:
