Maudlin Strangers Music Video for the Single “Overdose”

blackpandaPRmaudlin strangers

“Overdose” is the title track for Maudlin Strangers upcoming EP.  This group has a smooth sound to them.  The lead singer has a clear and strong voice that reaches over the instruments with little ease.  The band has the restraint not to overpower the lead singer even though they have some strong beats going on.  The song is very melodic and will almost hypnotize you with the flowing rhythm.  Check out the music video on the groups YouTube channel – Richard:

We have mentioned Maudlin Strangers before on the site.  Jake Hays has released his second track “Stay Young” which has a great sound to it just like his “Overdose” debut.  His music has a distinct sound to it and the lyrics are in a serious vein, but you can’t stop from listening.  His EP will be available later this Summer, so keep an eye on iTunes or other digital feeds.  We also have his tour dates and social media links below where you can keep track of Maudlin Strangers below – Richard:

DEBUT EP COMING SUMMER 2014

Maudlin Strangers is the Los Angeles based solo project of Jake Hays, a multi instrumentalist/vocalist, who tracked, engineered, and produced his forthcoming Overdose EP all from his bedroom in Agoura Hills, CA. He creates haunting musical soundscapes you’ll never forget.

Maudlin Strangers’ highly anticipated debut EP will be out later this summer.

I was a little on the fence about Maudlin Strangers’ remix of “Overdose” but was soon run over. As soon as the lyrics came in with the slow, heavy bass I fell in love. The creativity and skills it takes to do a remix (a good one at that) is underappreciated. They give this song a breath of fresh air. I actually started looking for more of their music after listening to this. The lighter sounds on top of the bass gave it all more depth and made sure the listener never got bored. My only critique is the very beginning before the lyrics started; it doesn’t fit the song at all and sounds weird.
