Trak Joy’s New Single “Skin”

Let me just say that ‘Skin’ is a really good title for a song. It’s short and interests people, the song itself is lacking though. I liked the intro of the song but it got a little too trippy for me. I didn’t really enjoy how high the vocals were and the voice doesn’t work with the wispy treatment. It sounds like I’ve taken a bad hit of acid and I’m going on a warped trip. The music also seemed a little lost in itself. There was so much going on and not enough that complemented each other. If Trak Joy would bring down the vocals and focus the music they’ll be great.

Just because April doesn’t like the trippy sound doesn’t mean that others won’t.  Give it a listen.  It might be right up your alley.  So check out “Skin” through SoundCloud, below:

Postcards From Jeff is in “A House”

Postcards From Jeff has an unusual name and an even more unusual sound. Jeff’s rough voice is amazing and speaks volumes to me. The heavy percussion in the background is a nice touch as well, it helps a slower song like ‘A House’ feel a little faster and helps the listener stay focused. The lyrics themselves were really nice as well and I can see them connecting with a wide audience. The only thing I would pick out is that Jeff’s voice almost becomes platonic throughout the song. He seems to stay very close to one or two notes and it can get boring to listen to of he’s not careful. Other than that I think Postcards From Jeff is doing pretty good and have them on my list to watch.
