Lost Planet Manga

Here is another title for librarians to keep their eyes out for when it is translated in English.  The first compiled book of Takeshi Miyazawa’s Lost Planet: Bound Raven is being released this week.  This will be a great crossover book for Teen/Young Adult librarians to use to get some of your library’s gamers into graphic novels.  Since it is based on a video game I’m pretty positive this will be adapted for the English audience.  Follow the link back to Anime News Network for the short article.

Arakawa to Create New Title

Anime News Network is reporting that Hiromu Arakawa, creator of Fullmetal Alchemist, will have a new title begin in the 19th issue of Shonen Sunday on April 6th.  The site did not have the title of the new title, however as popular are Fullmetal has been in the States you can bet that a distributor will pick up this new title of Arakawa’s when it becomes available.  Librarians don’t have to worry about this now, but keep it in the back of your mind for in the future.  Link to the article below.

Dark Horse Named Manga Pub. of the Year

Dark Horse’s site has a brief article (link below) on being named Manga Publisher of the Year by Diamond Comics Distributors Gem Awards.  This being Dark Horse’s 25th year of publishing this makes a nice feather in the hat for them.  Out of the 25 years, the site mentions they have published manga for 23 of those years, most notiably Oh My Goddess! and Blade of the Immortal.
