LP lends Her Music to Dance Video

lpLil-Buck

Lil Buck was introduced to LP’s debut album Forever For Now via Sol Guy and he said it INSPIRED him. All he wanted to do was dance to it. The two began discussing different artists and their particular roots of inspiration. Bruce Lee was another one of those for Lil Buck. They combined Bruce’s philosophy, LP’s haunting track and Lil Buck’s jaw dropping, bone breaking dancing into a mind-blowing celebration.

Lil Buck to the title track “Forever For Now” and put dance to it, what he calls Memphis Jookin.  Lil Buck gives some narrative to his dance and then it goes into the lyrics.  The video is shot in black and white which makes it a little haunting.  You can definitely tell that his influence is from Bruce Lee.  The video was done for a new upcoming show called The Talent Show, created by Sol Guy that travels to find arts that inspires individual.  It is a cool video with LP’s music and looks to be an interesting show.  Check it out from “Sol Guy’s” YouTube Channel – Richard:

LP is different to say the least. After listening to her two new songs, “One Last Mistake” and “Tokyo Sunrise”, I have mixed emotions. I liked the instrumentals and the beginning of each song. They sounded awesome and I got into it quickly. My only negative might be her voice, she has a good voice but I don’t know if it suits this particular music style. To me it sounds strange with her instrumentals but I can tell she’s talented. Another minor detail that bugged me was the name LP. It sounds a lot like EP to me and I got really confused just trying to figure out the name she goes by.

April has not heard very much of Stevie Nicks.  LP’s voice really reminds me of Stevie Nicks’ voice.  The songs are good and if you like the Stevie Nicks feel you will like LP.  Give her a try and you can listen to her single “One Last Mistake” and “Tokyo Sunrise” from SoundCloud below. – Richard

More “Kisses” for Everyone

The dou Kisses is preping for the second LP, Kids in LA, to come out on May 14 on Cascine.  To wet our appetites they have shared their song “Huddle”.  You can definitely hear the Eighties influence in the music.  The voices are nice and clear which I always enjoy.  I don’t like it when instruments overpowers a singers voice.  I do want to hear the music and the different instruments being played.  However, many bands forget that the voice is also an instrument.  Thanks to Wild Honey Pie for the notice and check out their website for more Indy music news: http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/
