Viz Teams up with Amazon

If you don’t like lugging around a bunch of manga this will probably make you happy and if you don’t own a Kindle it will make you want to purchase one.  Why would you want a Kindle?  Viz has just put it’s entire manga catalog onto Amazon’s Kindle Store.  So know when you purchase a volume you have the choice of getting a physical or digital format.  Be aware that Viz has also raised their pricing across the board to $6.99 per volume know.

Amazon Ventures into Comics

Later this year Amazon will be entering into the comic book publishing arena, with the imprint Jet City Comics.  The imprint will focus on adaptations of novels written by high profile science fiction and fantasy authors.  Some of the titles scheduled are: Meathouse; Wool; and The Foreworld Saga.  The titles will be first available on the Kindle e-reader and later in print collected editions.

The Piano Pt. 1 Book Trailer

Ciro Correia has created a graphic novel for your digital collection, entitled The Piano, Pt. 1: The Dreamer.  It is available now from amazon.com for your Kindle.  This book looks to be about a young boy utilizing a piano to escape from his undesirable reality and enters into another reality full of wonders.  Thanks to Ciro for the link to the trailer on YouTube and I have provided the link to the amazon page:

Kindle Fire News

Kindle is going to a color format.  This is probably in answer to the iPad and Color Nook.  Amazon has upped the game by have exclusive content for graphic novel readers though.  They have made a deal with DC Comics that the will have 100 exclusive graphic novel titles.  One of the titles to catch most readers attention is Watchmen.  This is sure to cause a little bit of dust in the comic community.  If a person already has an iPad will they fill pressured pick up a Kindle Fire, because of the exclusive content, even if they don’t really want a Kindle Fire?  Thanks to ICv2 for the story.

Charity Book on Kindle

If any of your patrons still want to give to the Japanese Society after the earthquake you might want to tell them about this possibility.  The Amazon Kindle Store has an 84 page charity book featuring Gurren Lagann entitled “Believe in Yourself”.  It sells for $9.99 and the proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist in the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake.  Thanks to AnimeNews Network for this information.
