Sun Gods to Gamma Rays gives us a single that has that other worldly feel just in time for the week of Halloween. “A Ghost to Find” is one that harkens back to the psychedelic sound of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. This is one that won’t make you jump up and dance it is more of a melodic tune where you put it in after a long day and relax. 8-Bit Operator: A Tribute to Depeche Mode
Today is the release date of 8-BIT OPERATORS – A TRIBUTE TO DEPECHE MODE- Enjoy The Science. This date is also the 30th anniversary of the Apple II 8-bit computer that 8bitweapon and ComputeHer use on this release.
This entire album utilizes “microchip synthpunk” technology… the sound character delivered by various micro-chips made iconic in the late 20th century (in Nintendos, Ataris, Gameboys, Commodore 64s, Speak & Spells, etc.), and when these devices are musically re-tooled, adapted, or even “circuit-bent”, brand-new creative options and sound palettes are invented.
8-Bit Operators is in our schedule for a podcast review. So come back in a couple of weeks when we will be recording our ComicPop Rockin’ in the Dirt episodes. April is currently away on vacation, but we do have four episodes in the can before she left that will be coming out in the next few weeks. – Richard

I love Hawker M. James smooth sound that they mix with stinging rock, if that even makes sense. They keep me interested throughout the whole song without anything grating on my ears. I am reminded of Jake Bugg and Jack White when I listen to them–two artists I extremely enjoy listening to. Hawker M. James has a great future ahead of them and will always find a spot on my playlist.
