This will be something to catch the eye of librarians. Anime News Network, linked below, is reporting that Mary Pope Osborne’s Magic Tree House has been green-lit to be an animated film. If everything moves forward without any complications the article says that the film will be released in Japan in 2012. This is one that I would say will be translated for the U.S. market. This will be a great promotional tool when it does hit the U.S. to make displays featuring it and the children book series by Osborne to encourage more readership for the series.

Pokemon Still Going Strong
ICv2 is reporting more 15th Anniversary news, see link below for full article. The 14th and 15th feature films will debut in Japan during the month of July. The titles of the two films are Pokemon: Vintini and the Black Hero: Zekrom and Pokemon: Vintini and the White Hero: Reshiram. These films feature the Legendary Pokemon listed in the titles, which tie into the release of the Pokemon TCG: Black and White set that was mentioned in an earlier post, see second link. When these two films make it to the U.S. to purchase these will be two films librarians will want to purchase to add to their anime collection for all of their Pokemon fans.
SyFy Moves Anime to Thursday
Attention all Anime lovers, librarians as well as your patrons, Anime News Network reports that the SyFy channel will be moving its Anime block to Thursday nights. This will begin on March 24. The article, linked below, also states that the block currently shows it will begin at 11:30 p.m. instead of 11:00 p.m.
X-Men Anime
This will be of interest to librarians working on their anime collection. Anime New Network’s site has a brief article about the X-Men anime starting on Japanese television channel Animax. The article also mentions that Animax is already airing Ironman and Wolverine animes. These are not available for purchase yet. However, with these being U.S. properties I can see these eventually collected and distributed in the United States (dubbed and subbed). I could be wrong with my speculation, but I would definitely keep these writing down and in the back of your mind for a possible future anime purchase. Follow the link to Anime News Network and there will be an image of X-Men’s Cyclops, pictured above. Click this image and it will take you to Animax’s site where you can see the trailer/commercial for X-Men.
