Ep. 9 MiniPop: Phoenix Ash’s Indie Sound

Ep. 9 MiniPop: Phoenix Ash’s Indie Sound

We are back, with the first podcast of 2014.  Our 9th MiniPop starts the year off with Richard, April, Matt, and Chris discussing the sounds of the San Francisco based, J-Rock influenced Indie band, Phoenix Ash.

The band has one album to purchase now on their website, Transcend, and then when they finish releasing the singles from the current album, From Dust, it will be available to purchase as well to add to your library’s music collection.  After listening to the show I noticed that I had the opening and closing mixed.  Phoenix Ash’s “Amberglow” is the shows opening and then “Setsunai” is the shows closing.  I apologize for the mix-up and will have to take this as a learning tool to pay more attention to detail if I am putting a show together when I’m sick.

The ComicPop Crew also got to visit with the band about their music and you can listen to the “Visit” by the link here: http://comicpoplibrary.com/news/ep-19-comicpop-visits-with-the-indie-rock-band-phoenix-ash/

Join us for another great visit by listening above, at www.comicpoplibrary.com, or wait until later today and it will be up on our iTunes feed.

Remember if you have a novel, graphic novel, movie/television series or an indie band you want us to check out let us know by e-mailing us at admin@comicpoplibrary.com and we will put it in our review rotation list.  Also if you have a question or comment send us an e-mail at admin@comicpoplibrary.com and we will read it during a recording.  Thank you again for everyone that listens and supports us, we are steadily growing thanks to you.  So keep spreading the word about ComicPop Library to everyone you think might enjoy the show.

Phoenix Ash Cover’s Siam Shade’s “Still We Go”

One band that resonates with Phoenix Ash is Siam Shade.  Siam Shade just recently release the song “Still We Go”.  The first thing the Phoenix Ash members wanted to do was make a tribute cover to the song.  This is mentioned in the Visit we had with the band and you will be able to hear that Visit tomorrow morning when it is uploaded.  But today I want you to enjoy Phoenix Ash’s tribute to Siam Shade.  Be ready because, if you haven’t heard them before, Phoenix Ash will knock you socks off.  They have a great rock sound and they are ready to rise back up into the industry.  Thanks to Aaron and the bands YouTube channel “phoenixashmusic” and enjoy the “Still We Go” music video below and remember to be here tomorrow when we upload our Visit with the band:

Phoenix Ash is Rising with New Single

Phoenix Ash has been on a two year hiatus and is now rising from the ashes with new energy and a new album, From Dust.  This J-Rock and Power Band influenced group has their album ready, but they are going to release each single one at a time for free.  The first single Phoenix Ash is releasing is “A New Journey”  Follow the link below to listen and download the single and if you like what you hear they would appreciate any donation you can give, but it is not necessary.  Be sure to check out the band’s site at  http://phoenix-ash.com/.

You can’t beat that when a band is confident enough to put their music out for no cost.  Thanks to Aaron Kelley for informing ComicPop Library with the news.  Again click on the link below an give Phoenix Ash’s, “A New Journey” a try:

Two JAM Project’s Music Video’s Streamed

Lantis began streaming JAM Project’s “Wings of the Legend” and “Maximizer”.  “Wings” just came out this past December and “Maximizer” came out in 2010.  Thanks to AnimeNews Network for alerting everyone to this, so enjoy these two J-Rock music videos.

Tokyo Status with Ray

You will remember Ray talking about her new venture with the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach during ComicPop’s visit with her, where she and Lolita Dark would be the headliners of a new event the second Saturday of each month.  Well this is the first month for Ray’s Tokyo Status at the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, this Saturday, May 11 from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m.  The other bands featured are Apocalipstick and Psycho Bando.  There will also be a fashion show from DOLLDELIGHT and other activities throughout the evening.  So if you are in the Long Beach area and want a fun evening out, be sure to stop by at 727 Pine Ave, Long Beach.

Lolita Dark’s Music Video Zesshou is Here!

Lolita Dark’s song “Zesshou” has been released as a music video through their YouTube channel “Lolitadarkmusic”.  We had the pleasure of speaking with their lead singer Ray and that Visit will be up the last part of April.  Until then enjoy the band’s music video and give it your support.  This band to me is a rockin’ band that will appeal to any Anime/Manga fans and if you show it to your rockers you can introduce them to Japan’s Rock Scene.  Can’t wait for more from this band and go to their website to purchase their debut album Tokyo Status at this link http://lolitadark.com/merch/ .
