Preacher Trailer

preacher comicpreacher

AMC has released the first trailer for it’s new series Preacher, an adaptation from the Garth Ennis title.  Being a cable channel I’m sure AMC will stretch the boundaries like the do with the Walking Dead, but will have to stay confined to a degree.  If they did a true adaptation this would have to be on HBO or some other paychannel.  However, as good as AMC has done with the Walking Dead, Preacher might be another hit for them.  This is one wickedly twisted story…check out the trailer through AMC’s YouTube channel:

LISTEN TO EP TITLE TRACK “NEW DESTINATION”
Featured on American Songwriter
Title track “New Destination” drew inspiration from Carole King’s Broadway musical, “Beautiful.” After Sage left the show with an ‘I Feel The Earth Move’ feeling, she was determined to write an upbeat groove-tune on the piano with a classic, pop hook.
“One part Elton John, one part Kate Bush” (UNCUT), Sage has had an illustrious career as an independent artist, praised by the likes of The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and MOJO. Sage has shared the stage with Eric Burdon, Ani DiFranco, Marc Cohn, Sarah McLachlan, Judy Collins and Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey). Her songs have appeared on MTV, HBO, the “Fame” soundtrack, and the current season of Lifetime’s #1 reality series, “Dance Moms.” Sage has made a name for herself as one of the most active touring artists in indie music with her dynamic piano playing, delicate guitar work and soulful vocals. Billboard has said “her keen ironic sense of humor and quirky sense of the profound is what makes her special as a songwriter“ and RollingStone.com called her a “genuine talent.”
The beginning of Rachael’s song “New Destination” reminded me of something Sara Bareilles might put out and made me interested in what was coming next. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed in the song as a whole. Her voice seemed strangely soft and didn’t have any conviction to it-it didn’t sound like she believed whole heartedly in what she was singing. Her chorus was also anticlimactic to me and fell short.

Season 3 of Game of Thrones

HBO’s Game of Thrones: Season 3 will debut the last of March.  One of the better adult fantasy stories that I have seen.  Definitely not kid friendly, but even if you have not read the books, but love the fantasy genre, you will more than likely love this series.  Thanks to ICv2 for the update and trailer through YouTube:

ComicPop Library Episode 8

It’s the debut of the new crew….Chris Dressler, Matt Moyer and Johnny Dunlap join Richard to review and discuss HBO’s Game of Thrones, adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novel by the same name, and Blue Exorcist by Kazue Kato.  We are going with a new style for the show where it is more relaxed.  There will be very little editing and you will get to hear some of the few bumps that occasionally happen.  So remember, when you listen have fun.
