We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Harris Hawk gives everyone a nice hard rock single with “Farpoint”. This is one that hard rock fans will enjoy. There is a short bridge where the song softens a little, but it is primarily in your face with electric guitar the featured piece in the driving beat. Holy rock, this is my type of band. From the intro I was immediately into the song and really liked the raw almost jagged sound to the music. I did get a little lost in the middle of the song though, because the instrumentals overpowered the vocals too much. Rock music needs strong vocals to sit on top of it and emote even more. The only time a softer voice works in rock is if the voice is distinctively separated from the music but it wasn’t in this case. If the vocalist gets stronger and can be heard better I would love this group. They’ve got the foundation of a good rock band, if they just tweaked a couple things they would be there.
