Wonder Woman’s 75!

Wonder Woman 75

DC has released the image for Wonder Woman’s 75 Anniversary!  I love it very nice and sleek.  Can’t wait to see what DC Comics will have in store for us this year which will come to a head with the Wonder Woman feature film starring Gal Godot.

Supergirl Flies over to CW

supergirl

Deadline Hollywood reports that for the second season of Supergirl has moved over to The CW.  The trailer below also bears that information out.  I’m glad that The CW picked this up and they can have more fun in the DC television universe.  It also makes sense because the channel is a Warner property.  Thanks to “The Flash’ YouTube channel for the trailer:

Batman: The Killing Joke Trailer

killing joke

DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation has decided to produce Batman: The Killing Joke.  This is one of the few rated “R” animated movies that a company in the U.S. has made.  If you are a fan of the Batman mythos you know this was a rough and traumatic story and there really was no other way to adapt this story and have the same resonance.  So everyone be aware that this is a great heart breaking/gut wrenching story that is not intended for children.

DC’s Superhero Girls Looking Fun

dc superhero girlsdc superhero girls1

From what I have seen DC Superhero Girls is just plain fun.  It’s lighthearted and introduces some of DC’s strong female characters for a younger generation.  I believe you can watch most of the animated shorts on their YouTube Channel  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRdVJ9XqHCb6BqApCIO_TYg (where I am sharing the trailer from) and right now the figures are only available at Target stores.  I am looking at these and trying to decide which scale I want to get the heroes in…anyway here’s the trailer:

Batman v Superman is Here!

batman v superman

I don’t care what other people have to say I’m still excited to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this weekend and will more than likely enjoy it.  Is it because I’m a child of DC…probably.  You can’t compare DC to Marvel in my eyes.  They are completely different philosophies and I enjoy both because of these differences.  Marvel is about the every day man or woman receiving powers and how they handle them.  DC is about the mythology and their characters have always been about the characters having god like powers.  And the main reason to enjoy this movie is that it is just a movie to take you away from the real world for a few hours.  When you go in to watch any comic book based movie or any movie for that matter go in to the theater ready to relax and enjoy the story and effects.  Yes you can point out flaws every story and person has them, but you don’t have to tear it or them down.  Just my own meandering…go enjoy and have fun with it! – Richard  Thanks to MovieClips Trailers for this trailer:

International Trailer for Batman v Superman

A new trailer for the Batman v Superman movie has begun streaming.  This time it is an international trailer that shows many additional scenes that, at least I haven’t seen before.  With me being a DC child I am eagerly awaiting this film.  Thanks to JoBlo Movie Trailers’ YouTube channel for sharing this trailer:

Scalped Pilot Ordered

scalped

ICv2 is reporting that WGN America has ordered a pilot for the DC Comic’s Vertigo title Scalped.  The series will be an adaptation of Jason Aaron and R.M. Guera’s comic book series.  If this comes to pass I would expect something on the level of the Walking Dead production, because this is a great story told for a mature audience.

General Mills Batman v Superman Mini Comics

generalgeneral1

If you are a comic book collector like I am and you haven’t been down the cereal aisle in you local grocer you might want to go down it.  General Mills is doing another DC Comics promotional and this time it is with the upcoming Batman v Superman movie.  Their are four mini comic books that are randomly inserted in five different cereals.  The cereal boxes to look for are: Cocoa Puffs; Trix; Lucky Charms; Golden Grahams; and Honey Nut Cheerios.  I’ve gotten one issue so far, just three more to go.

Supergirl/Flash Crossover Announced

ICv2 has posted some exciting news for DC television fans.  Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg announced that the CW’s Flash will appear in CBS’ Supergirl.  The Crossover episode will air March 28.  This will bring the DC television universe a fifth tie-in show even though Supergirl is on CBS.  It has already been stated that Constantine has been in Arrow even though that show was canceled the character has lived on.  The other three (Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) being on the CW.  Don’t know how they would tie in with Gotham unless they bring in a grown up Bruce/Batman and use the same villain actors with some aging makeup on them or have the Legends of Tomorrow team go to that timeline in Gotham.  It would be really cool if they could get them all tied together.
