ICv2 is reporting that Warners Animation EVP, Sam Register announced, at Cannes, that a new Batman animated series is in the works for 2013. The series will be computer animated and entitled Beware The Batman.

Kindle is going to a color format. This is probably in answer to the iPad and Color Nook. Amazon has upped the game by have exclusive content for graphic novel readers though. They have made a deal with DC Comics that the will have 100 exclusive graphic novel titles. One of the titles to catch most readers attention is Watchmen. This is sure to cause a little bit of dust in the comic community. If a person already has an iPad will they fill pressured pick up a Kindle Fire, because of the exclusive content, even if they don’t really want a Kindle Fire? Thanks to ICv2 for the story.

Justice League Doomed?
ICv2 is reporting that Warner Bros. Animation has Justice League Doom on slate for a early 2012 release. The DC animated movies have been really well done. If your library hasn’t been picking these up you should consider them for you animated collection. However, these movies are not children shows. They do tackle more complex issues and themes, so these should be placed in you Young Adult section or if you have a separated out anime/animation collection place them there. Doom is based of the Graphic Novel JLA: Tower of Babel, were super villains have discovered Batman’s contingency plans on how to take out superheroes that go rogue.
DC’s 52 Event!
Today is new comic book day for all who are into buying comic books. Every Wednesday, unless a holiday causes a hiccup, is when that weeks new comic books come to the local comic book store for fans to purchase. Today is a little special though. This is the launch of DC Comics new 52 #1’s. What makes this day special is the way you can purchase the new 52 #1’s. You can purchase the print copy, which is still my method, or you can also purchase the titles digitally today as well. DC Comics is the first company to go to a print/digital same day release for all of it’s titles. The digital format can be downloaded on a computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Android, WP7, or PSP with DC stating that it is working on additional platforms for the titles to be downloaded to. A Look at the New Superman

Daily Planet Editor
ICv2 is reporting that Laurence Fishburne will be playing Perry White, editor of the Daily Planet, in the Zack Snyder Superman: Man of Steel film. The film has also been moved from a December 2012 release date to a June 2013 release date.
