Marvel Comics and the American Cancer Society are teaming up!  In September five Marvel titles will have variant covers to commemorate National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.  The five titles that will have the variant covers are: All-New, All-Different Avengers #14; Captain America: Steve Rogers #6; Captain Marvel #9; Invincible Iron Man #13; and Mighty Thor #11.  So if you are a comic collector and like variant covers you might want to visit you local comic book store to see if you can get the covers.  Thanks to ICv2’s Nicole Bunge for the update.

Kitty Decides Teaser Trailer

kitty decides

ComicPop has featured Amy Raasch before with her animated video “Cat Bird Coyote”.  Amy is continuing her animal activism with Kitty Decides to benefit animal rescues.  What is Kitty Decides?  Here is a quick explanation and then the teaser trailer for Amy Raasch’s Webisode that will debut June 24, this Friday:

What is #KITTYDECIDES?
It’s a retro-electropop novelty tune, a psychedelic video with a kitschy 1960’s aesthetic, and a fun commentary on our cultural obsession with the online feline. With 100% of proceeds benefitting rescue efforts, it’s lighthearted entertainment with a serious mission: to translate the massive enthusiasm for cat videos into meaningful donations to animal rescue efforts.
The full video is set to be released this Friday June 24th, to coincide with Cat World Domination Day and to kickoff CatConLA 2016.

DC Comics Rebirth

rebirth2

For anyone that is unsure about what DC Comics Rebirth is about DC Comics has made a video with Geoff Johns.  Check out the video from DC’s YouTube channel.  I’m a DC guy so I am always optimistic:

Alice Underground Digs “Superman”!

cyberpr1alice Underground

Alice Underground is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her jazzy new single “Superman”.  This is a fun song for fans of old school Jazz.  Alice has a clear sultry voice that hits all the right notes and scats beautifully.  Within the song their is a clear homage to Superman with the old theme song reflected in the single at certain points.  This one hits our flavors perfectly especially how can it not with the title of “Superman”. I had to include the music video, even though it has no imagery of Superman, because it is just a fun video and the night club scene being in black and the pop of red gives a call out that is very subtle. Plus the video is just fun to watch, almost like you are watching Dancing with the Stars.  Enjoy Alice Underground’s “Superman” through their YouTube channel – Richard:

The End of ComicPop?

Having some fun with Lenny one of our Co-Hosts.  He has been working on a treatment for Zombie Waltz to get interest back into the possibility of publishing.  Not sure when it will happen, but when it does we here at ComicPop wish him all the best in having a fun ride.  Thanks to Vance Major for helping Lenny and ShadowStorm Studios & Perfect Pursuit for using the Theme to Melbourne an upcoming Star Trek fan film produced by Vance.
