Trapdoor Social’s Single “Never Stop Listening”
Trapdoor Social is sharing with our listeners their latest single “Never Stop Listening”. Music and politics have been intertwined since I can remember. With the single “Never Stop Listening” the band is adding their voice to a cause they want to draw awareness. The single itself can be listened to and be referenced in a completely different way. It is with the music video for the single that draws attention to the Dakota Access Pipeline, by using images from the camp. The single itself is a very well done soft rock ballad that is enjoyable. Here’s Trapdoor Social’s “Never Stop Listening” music video through their YouTube channel. If you want to catch them live I have some of the upcoming dates listed – Richard:

Vacances Single “Human”
Vacances is sharing with the ComicPop listeners his single “Human”. Vacances has with this single has that 1980’s style synth/pop going. When he first came in with the lyrics my mind went straight to a similar sound as Human League. Like most of these types of songs his voice is blending in with the instrumentals. This is a fine line that Vacances will have to watch. With “Human” he stays at the appropriate level of being right above the instrumentals. But with his softer voice he will have to watch the power of the instrumentals so they don’t over take his voice. Like I said though with “Human” it is working. Jetty Rae’s Single “Take Me To The Mountain”
Jetty Rae is sharing with our listeners her single “Take Me to the Mountain”. Jetty is playing with two different styles of music with this single. I definitely hear a country blend with the instrumentals, but they are slowed down and her singing the lyrics is dragged out like you would hear in a psychedelic single. This might be a little bit of a challenge for new listeners, but for individuals that enjoy the psychedelic feel will get into this single. For me liking more upbeat songs, this is a mood piece for me and when they mood hits it fits. Here’s Jetty Rae’s “Take Me to the Mountain” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Aria Wunderland’s Single “Coup D’etat
Aria Wunderland is sharing her single “Coup D’etat” with our listeners. I know that this is a politically charged single, but I’m not going to dwell on that aspect except to say that it doesn’t matter who has the reigns of authority they should always be questioned and have checks and balances. With that “Coup D’etat” has an unsettling rhythm to it that I believe Aria was going for to have the listener have a sense of unease. The vocals themselves are sometimes lost within the music with her singing at a level that is right at the same level as each other.
