Ep 1 of ComicPop MiniCast: Ginger and the Ghost

Hello everyone and welcome to a ComicPop MiniCast.  This recording was during Episode 30, but we had to drop it from the show due to time restraints.  Therefore, we are putting it up as a MiniCast.

In this MiniCast the ComicPop Crew received an e-mail from Caitlin Pasko, of the MuseBox.  The MuseBox has been keeping our blog appraised of indy music artists and the product they are producing.  Caitlin asked the Crew what we thought of a particular artist they represent, Ginger and the Ghost.

The ComicPop Crew gives our feedback on Ginger and the Ghost’s “One Type of Dark”.  The intro and outro for the MiniCast features another of Ginger and the Ghost’s songs “Where Wolf”.

Anna Haas Music Video for “Find Your Home” Single

ANNA HAAS – “FIND YOUR HOME”

Last year, when rummaging through her great grandfather’s film reels, the fiery and theatrical singer / songwriter / entertainer Anna Haas came across footage of her grandmother in NYC that dated all the way back to 1929. Anna’s grandmother had recently passed, and she was inspired by this serendipitous historical find – footage of Coney Island, Bushwick, dancers at the Copacabana, vintage cars, and even of her grandmother’s pet monkey. “Find Your Home” is a track off of Anna’s debut LP Crazy Is, and the video is a tribute to Anna’s grandmother and her adopted home of NYC.

Brooklyn-based experimental psych-pop band RAILBIRD release their newest Lucky EP today, a tour de force that includes two new previously unreleased songs, as well as “Jump Ship,” a track that made waves this summer after a residency at Pete’s Candy Store. The video for the song, which features guest vocals from Anti recording artist Sean Rowe and Phantogram’s Sarah Barthel, premiered on Brooklyn Vegan in late August.
