We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
The Cabana Kids latest single “Sortida’ gives you that late 1960’s to 1970’s feel to me. The vocals and instruments give a nice counter balance to each other and the “aahs” gives it an other worldly or what some might say the “feel good feeling” feel to the single. This would also appeal to what I would call the hipster scene very easily. Check it out through SoundCloud – Richard:
The Cabana Kids have slowed it down for everyone with their latest release “Oh Lorelei”. Remember to me they have that old beach music sound (think Beach Boys, Jan & Dean and such). Not a bad sound, so take a listen through SoundCloud below – Richard:
The Cabana Kids. Where do I start? I just can’t tell if I like this group or not. The instrumentals are beautiful and Give me an earthy, boho feeling. The vocals on the other hand sound a little flat in comparison, instead of floating on top of the music I thought the vocals were pulling it down at times. The lyrics are there and I can tell the vocalists have talent, I think the biggest problem is whatever treatment they’re using in their voices to get the particular sound you’ll hear. If they can fix that part they’ll have a group that’s 100x better, and they’re already good so can you imagine how great they’ll sound? I can, and it’s pretty sweet.
