With Fans On Her Side, Scarlett Rabe’s “Battle Cry” Video Wins Fight for Rotation on mtvU
According to mtvU.com, fans helped “Battle Cry” to an “impressive victory” on last week’s round of The Freshmen
The MuseBox today announced that Scarlett Rabe’s“Battle Cry” was overwhelmingly selected by fans as their favorite video during last week’s round of mtvU’s The Freshmen, putting the video into regular rotation on mtvU, MTV’s award-winning college channel. Scarlett, the songwriter known for her “haunting riffs and empowering words” (Marie Claire), will receive maximum exposure this week, as mtvU reaches nearly 9 million U.S. college students. It is the largest, most comprehensive television network just for college students. Scarlett, forbidden as a child from participating in popular culture, but now with well over one million Facebook fans, has earned comparisons to Florence and the Machine and Feist. “Battle Cry” is the first single off Scarlett’s new record, Scarlett, which is available in her online store.

Now For Scarlett Rabe’s Music Video “Battle Cry”

Now after seeing a brief video with Scarlett Rabe, you get to see her music video “Battle Cry”.  With Scarlett April and I disagree on how we feel about “Battle Cry”.  Here are April’s thoughts.

The openning of “Battle Cry” was really cool, I appreciate a hard bass. I was taken aback when she started singing and am still not sure if I liked it. I enjoyed the chorus of the song alright but I’m afraid that’s all. The song was alright, I didn’t reslly get anything special out of it and probably won’t go back to the song on my own.

-April B.
You can see that April was indifferent about the song.  I on the other hand liked Scarlett’s voice from the start.  It has a slightly unique quality to it.  I also enjoyed the tempo of the song and how Scarlett’s voice blended with the instruments in the chorus, but no enough to drown her out.  I also enjoyed the spotlight on the piano.  I miss the variety of instrumentation that used to be in songs.
So you can see April and I have differing opinions.  Which is great that’s what makes this world go round.  However, now you can watch and listen to Scarlett Rabe’s music video “Battle Cry” and make you on decision.  Thank you  to Scarlett for sharing this on her YouTube channel:

Who is Scarlett Rabe?

For those that don’t know of Scarlett Rabe, she started out as a piano prodigy at the age of 3.  She has millions of FaceBook fans and has turned her attention to being a singer/songwriter.  Below is a small clip that Scarlett did talking about herself.  Come back tomorrow to hear and see her music video “Battle Cry”.
