Candy Toy Bandai will be releasing eight DragonBall Z mini-figures in February. The figures as pictured above resemble Lego type figures, but it is not clear if they are actually compatible with Lego. The line is being called “FigMe” and look like they will be a hit.
Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation trailer is streaming on YouTube and it has been announced that Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime for home video release. Ford Today’s YouTube channel is streaming a web exclusive Dragonball Z commercial for the 2016 Ford Focus. It features Krillin and Gohan. This is great! Yuto Tuskuda and Shun Saeki’s Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga gets a second season. Viz is publishing the manga for the North American market while CrunchyRoll has shown the first season. Hopefully someone will pick up the distribution rights for the anime’s first season for the DVD/Blu-Ray North American market. The manga is a mature title but it is so much fun. The website for Himitsu – The Top Secret live-action film has begun streaming a teaser for the upcoming August release of the film. The film is an adaptation of Reiko Shimizu’s psychological science fiction manga in association with Wowowo Films. Here is the teaser through their YouTube channel:
All Kaiju fans rejoice! Those waiting for a new Godzilla film will be happy that the wait will soon be over. Godzilla Resurgence (Shin Godzilla) will be coming out in Japan on July 29 and you know this will get picked up by a North American distributor for a release here. The studio has released a teaser trailer through their YouTube channel for everyone to see:
This is just to cool! Build-A-Bear is offering for Pre-Order a pre-stuffed Pikachu that comes with a Poke Ball hoodie, Charizard, a sound card, and an exclusive Build-A-Bear Pikachu CCG card. It might not get here for the holidays, but it would be a neat present for any Pikachu/Pokemon fan. Usually if we do this we print the picture and put it in a box for them to unwrap and then when the actual item arrives we give the actual present to them at that time. Sega has begun streaming the teaser for Valkyria: Azure Revolution on its YouTube channel. This role-playing video game teaser is for the PlayStation 4 and isn’t scheduled until a Winter 2016 release. Sega is hoping this teaser will hold you over until a full trailer is released and then finally the game next year. Will it work? At least we have a long enough lead in time to save money for the game.
If you are going to be in the Ikebukuro, Japan area you will want to visit the Animate Cafe starting November 17th. Starting on the 17th the Cafe will have a special themed menu from the cast and creatures from the upcoming Digimon Adventure tri. Besides have special menu items the Cafe will be giving out complementary items as well. If you order a food item you will receive a Digimon bookmark and if you order a drink item you will receive a Digimon coaster. Cool promotional.
Square Enix has begun streaming the trailer for the upcoming Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade game. KOEI Tecmo Game’s Team Ninja is developing the game which has a launch date of November 26. Check out the trailer from Square Enix’ YouTube channel:
