Flow to perform at two Anime Conventions

Librarians in the Illinois area and Northern California area need to relay this information to their patrons that like JPop.  The group Flow will be performing at the Anime Central convention in Illinois, on May 20th, and again over the May 27-30 weekend, at the FanimeCon 2011 MusicFest.  Watch the bands two announcements below.

Anime Cons!

Here are some Anime Conventions that librarians might pass along to their patrons that live close to the area.  A Con is an experience unto itself so if you have any patrons that have not been to one let them know about these three up-coming Cons: Anime Matsuri, March 18-20, in Houston, Texas; Zenkaikon March 18-20, in Philadelphia, PA; and Mega Con, March 25-27 in Orlando, Florida.  Links to each Cons homepage are below so be sure to share them with your patrons.

$10,000 for Anime Music Video!

Librarians everywhere let your anime patrons know about this contest at Anime Expo.  Even if your patrons are not from L.A. they still might go to Anime Expo since it is one of the biggest Anime conventions in the U.S.  Anime News Network has a brief article about this exciting event for individuals who have the talent of making AMV’s (Anime Music Video).  The largest prize will be $2,500 for Best of Show and other individual prizes to total $10,000 that will be given away.  The convention is scheduled for July 1-4, 2011.  The prize money is being provided by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation.
