Star Wars Detours Trailer

I wanted to wait until this was premiered, but so far they haven’t released a date.  Most people have probably seen it, but that’s alright it’s a fun trailer.  So here we go, Star Wars Detours will be the next animation series out from LucasFilm.  Thanks to YouTuber “starwars” for the trailer:

Batman Lego Movie Trailer

Here’s a movie the majority of libraries will want to put in the DVD collections when it becomes available, Lego Batman The Movie.  Thanks to ICv2 for the following trailer:

Mass Effect Trailer

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost will be one that librarians will want to consider strongly to place within their anime collections.  It will appeal to the anime/animation fans and also to your video gamers.  It will be available come November to purchase, so check your vendors and preorder your copy.  Thanks to FUNimation and YouTube for the following trailer:

AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber xthehuntressx.  Xthehuntressx takes the song “Fighter” performed by Christina Aguilera and edits it around scenes from Justice League.  These cut scenes are very clean and crisp, which makes the AMV so much nicer to view.  At one point I began to wonder if xthehuntressx used Black Canary to emulate Ms. Aguilera, when Black Canary is using her sonic scream I just pictured Aguilera hit her high notes.  The one fault I have for the AMV is that it has side borders. If the video image would have fit the YouTube screen it would have been more attractive. One of the great things about this video is that you get to see a verity of DC heroes.  Some you will know and others that are less known unless you read DC Comics.  Great job xthehuntressx.  Thanks to YouTube for the video and you can find it on their site or check it out below:

Dark Knight Returns

Warner Premiere is releasing the adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns from DC Comics.  Their is no release date as of this time, but libraries will want to add this to their animation collections when it becomes available to purchase.  Thanks to ICv2 and MTV for the following trailer, which takes a while to load:

New Satrapi Movie Adaptation

Most libraries will have Vincent Paronnaud’s adaptation of Marjane Satrapi’s PersepolisPersepolis was nominated for an Academy Award for best animated film, so if your library doesn’t have it you might want to consider picking up a copy for you animation collection.  Paronnaud and Satrapi have teamed up again to bring about a live action adaptation of Satrapi’s Chicken with Plums, which will hit theaters August 17.  Thanks to ICv2 and YouTube for the following trailer of Chicken with Plums:
