AMV Spotlight of the Week

This weeks AMV Spotlight is on YouTuber SonyXLR.  SonyXLR has taken the song “She’s so High” performed by Tal Bachman and edited it around scenes from the anime Ah! My Goddess.  This is a simple song with a simple video, but sometimes that’s all you need.  Everything works well between the song and anime.  And if you are familiar with the anime you know it works really well.  This is one AMV that most people will enjoy.  You can search for it on YouTube under “Ah my goddess – She’s so high” or watch it below.

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber xxDxxMxx.  This YouTuber takes the song “Shake It!” performed by Metro Station and edits in several scenes from a variety of anime.  The cuts are quick cuts that are to the beat of the song.  Because of this there are a lot of quick flashes, so if you are prone to seizures this might not be the AMV for you.  It is an older AMV, but I just liked the feel good beat of the song and how the cuts keep the rhythm of the music.  It’s worth seeing again.  Great job xxDxxMxx.  You can check out the AMV on YouTube under “Shake It!” or watch it below:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber DelugeOfRoses.  In this AMV the song “Walking on Sunshine” performed by Jump 5 is put to images from Fruits Basket.  This AMV caught my eye because we are in the middle of Spring and we have all this sunshine.  The editing is done nicely and cleanly.  There is no attempt to match words of the song to the anime characters mouths, it is just a pure video.  They ending is a little abrupt and should have been played out through the fade, I can forgive it that little misstep.  Also with this upbeat song of “Walking on Sunshine” fits the character Tohru Honda’s perfectly with her upbeat attitude of life, even with her sad past.  Good job DelugeOfRoses.  Check out the AMV on YouTube under “Fruits Basket – Walking on Sunshine” or watch it below:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber TehAznJulieh.  Here the song “Fallin’ For You” performed by Colbie Caillat and has been edited around scenes from the anime Toradora.  This AMV has a distracting feature of the artist and name of the song and YouTuber name constantly popping on the screen.  It would be nice to view the video without this distraction.  However, If you can get past the pop-ups, the editing of scenes is done very nicely and the song fits the AMV very well.   Colbie Caillat has a nice voice and the song has a great beat and hook to it.  You almost can’t help by like the song.  You can view the AMV below or look for it on YouTube under “AMV[Toradora] Falling For You”:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber ShizukaTeyova.  The song “Move Along”, performed by The All-American Rejects is edited around scenes from Big Windup!  This one is in here since we are right in the thick of things for Baseball season.  However, the song is a great song and the editing that ShizukaTeyova did for the AMV is nice and clean.  It was posted last May and doesn’t have very many views, but it is one that is worth checking out. Watch it below or on YouTube under “Big Windup! AMV-Move Along”.  Great job ShizukaTeyova.

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber DaiKunProductions.  DaiKunProductions takes the song “Ready to Roll”, performed by Jet Black Stare and edits in images from Initial D.  This is a great song to get your blood pumping and the Initial D scenes work perfectly with the song.  This AMV was also a finalist at Anime Expo in 2009.  This is definitely one that will get your head rocking and your foot tapping…..Great job all around.  You can watch the video below or search for it on YouTube under “Ready To Drift – Anime Expo 2009 AMV Contest Acton Finalist”.

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber sova88.  This individual takes “Shake That” performed by Scooter and edits it around a variety of anime.  This is one that is just plain fun.  The editing is clean, the song is fun and you can’t help yourself but “Shake That”!  Great fun sova88, check out the AMV below or go to YouTube and search under Amv – Shake That:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV is perfect for the library community.  The AMV comes from YouTuber MrFernoid.  It takes the song ‘Rock It” (Stanton Warriors Remix) by Sub Focus and edits the song with images from Star Wars Old Republic video game trailer.  This didn’t have a lot of editing per say since it took whole scenes and just put the music to the images. However, this shows everyone that good music doesn’t have to be sung, it can also be played and I enjoyed this instrumental. Check it out below or look it up on YouTube under “Star Wars The Old Republic AMV Rock-It”:

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV comes from YouTuber xxxHentaiGirlXXX.  This individual took “Party in the U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus and intercuts scenes from a varity of anime.  Some anime I recognized were Perfect Blue, One Piece, Lucky Star…and many others.  This is just a fun song that spotlighted several women in the animes.  Don’t let the YouTuber handle scare you away from this particular AMV, it’s more of a celebration of these characters, it’s not derogatory in any way I can see.  You can check this AMV out on YouTube under the tag “Party in the USA – Anime Style” or check it out below.

AMV of the Week Do Over

Didn’t realize I had already done the tribute video for Serenity, so here is another AMV for you.  This one comes from YouTuber SimplyMadStudiOs.  This AMV takes the song “Like it Loud” performed by Myah Marie and edits it to several anime: Bleach; Ookami-san; Toradora; Angel Beats; Higurashi; Macross Frontier; Shuffle!; Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya; and Umineko, as stated by the maker of the AMV.  It spotlights the female characters of these anime as the tough ladies that they are.  The transitions are timed with the beats of the song which make it a fast paced video.  The added background isn’t distracting, but add to the video.  Just a great video with a great song nice going SimplyMadStudiOs.  You can find the AMV on YouTube under “[SmS] We like it Loud! [Collab]” or check it out below:
