J-Pop at D.C. Fest

Additional information on the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.   Let all of your library’s J-Pop fans know about these two events that they will probably want to attend.  Misia and Sara Bareilles will be performing at the opening ceremonies of the Festival on March 25 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.  Then on March 27, AKB48 will have two performances at the Lincoln Theatre.  AKB48’s first performance will be at 4:00 p.m. and the second performance will be at 7:30 p.m.  Everyone enjoy the music.

J-Popping!

Here’s a great talking point for you to discuss music with your J-Pop fans that come into the library.  If they don’t already know last night was the 53rd Annual Japan Record Awards.  Last night the J-Pop, all girls group, AKB48 won their first major award by winning  the top honor for the year for the show.  AKB48’s  won for their song “Flying Get”, which is the Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e ~ Ikemen Paradise 2011 theme song.  Congradulations to the group and thanks to AnimeNews Network and YouTube for the video below featuring the song.
