The main movie for this weekend is Tom Cruise’s latest, Jack Reacher. This movie is based off a character of Lee Child’s series of novels. I’m not sure if this is a straight adaptation of the first book of the series, I don’t read this particular author to know. Thanks to YahooMovies for the following trailer:
InkLit launched from Berkley
Berkley has announced that it will be launching a graphic novel imprint, InkLit. The first title with be Patricia Briggs’ Alpha and Omega, Vol. 1, in October. The imprint will also be publishing titles from Charlaine Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton along with others planned. So keep your eyes out for these adaptations and original stories.
Yen Adapts More Books
Yen Press has announced it will be adapting to works that libraries will want to take notice of and consider for their graphic novel collections. The first is the adaptation of Ransom Rigg’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and also an adaptation of Brent Weeks’ Way of the Shadows in 2013.
