Today comic stores will be receiving copies of X-Men #7. What’s so special about that? Well some retailers are having a “party” event for this release. If your library patrons get to the retailers fast enough there will be free Limited prints by Marko Djurdjevic. I know this is an older article, but I wanted to let the library community know that our own American Library Association appreciates the efforts of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. ICv2 reports that the publications Wizard and Toyfare will no longer be in print. Like several other publications these two magazines are moving to just on-line versions. Anime News Network reports that a new Pokemon movie Pokemon Zoroark: Master of Illusions will premiere on Cartoon Network on February 5th and the new series Pokemon: Black and White will premiere on the channel on February 12th. Follow the link for the full article.
ICv2 is reporting that three comic based properties have hired writers. The properties are War Machine, Brodie’s Law and Ascend. We’ll see if these actually come to pass, because the movie industry can be fickle. Read more at:
Seems that Marvel’s shack up is hitting all of the news outlets. You can pretty much go to any search engine and get results to a variety of articles. We have provided a link to Marvel’s website were Jonathan Hickman discusses the death of the Human Torch. But lets be honest, in comic books death is a relative aspect. And what can be more literal than the Human Torch rising up again in the flames of the phoenix. Just when his return might be is up in the air, because it was several years before we saw the return of Jason Todd (2nd Robin) and the longest length of time before a return that I’m aware of is Bucky returning first as Winter Soldier and is now currently the new Captain America.
Dynamite Entertainment’s second volume adaptation of Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files: Storm Front is available for purchase. Book adaptations will always be promoted when they become available so libraries can add them to their collection.
