Dynamite Entertainment is releasing a new art book that libraries can purchase either for their art collection or graphic novel collection. The Art of Howard Chaykin is written by Robert Greenberger and is a 200 page hard cover volume. This should be able to be pre-ordered because it is scheduled to be released during the month of December.
Tucci does the Christmas Story
Bill Tucci fans will want to know about this book along with some of your library’s local churches. Bill Tucci, who created Shi, has produced a comic book that pulls for the Christian faith. Tucci’s art has always been outstanding in all of his work. This can also be used as talking points for your local youth church groups to let the groups know there is something for everyone in the comic art form of story telling. Bill Tucci’s A Child Is Born is in this months previews and has a retail price of $5.99, from Apostle Arts, Tucci’s co-owned publisher.

Catch more Pokemon come December
AnimeNews Network has announced that Pokemon the Movie: White – Victini and Zekron will run in 300 theaters in the U.S. over the December 3-4 weekend. Tell your Pokemon fans to start watching their theaters the last week of November to see if their local theater might get the movie.
Boldly Coming to Your Local Theaters
Good news for Star Trek fans. ICv2 is reporting that J.J. Abrams will begin shooting this winter for the next installment of the Star Trek franchise. At this point in time Paramount has not announced a release date though. More than likely, I would say, they are shooting for a 2013 release date.
Subscription for Gamers
ICv2 is reporting that for the first time, that I can recall, gamers will be able to subscribe for gaming pieces. Pazio Publishing, with their partners WizKids, is offering a subscription for Pathfinder Battles: Heroes & Monsters. This subscription will allow gamers to get cases of pre-painted miniatures. The sight didn’t give a link to get this subscription, but librarians will still want to give their gamers a heads up so they can start checking out Pazio’s website to set up an account and get more information when Pazio formally announces this subscription service they can also find other subscription services while they are at the sight.
An Evil Manga
AnimeNews Network is reporting that starting with the February issue of Weekly Shonen Champion Magazine Serizawa’s Biohazard Marhawa Desire manga will begin serialization. This title has ties to CAPCOM’s Biohazard/Resident Evil games. Since this is related to Resident Evil and there being several fans of this franchise in the Western market, this should be a shoe-in for be translated for the English speaking audience. Late next year or in 2013 I wouldn’t be surprised to see this being offered to purchase for your library’s partons and the your library itself.
Fullmetal Alchemist Premiere
Librarians in the Burbank, California area let your patrons know about this upcoming event. This Saturday, the 17th, the Burbank International Film Festival will host the West Coast premiere of Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos. The viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the AMC Independent 6 theater.
Podcasting Schedule
These last few months have been busy. The crew hasn’t been able to get together for any recording time, because of work and personal schedules (vacations, weddings and so forth). Mickey and I plan on getting together at the end of September to record and if my family happens to see a movie we’ll record a review for it as well. Then there will be a slight shift in hosts because of conflicting work schedules. I’ll talk more about that when Mickey and I record. Anyway don’t forget about us. I’m still posting on the blog and we will be recording again very soon. Thanks for all of your support.
Bento Box Recipes
Here is something to tell your anime/manga patrons and in particular One Piece fans. Shueisha, a Japanese publishers, is releasing a recipe book inspired by Eiichiro Odo’s manga One Piece. The book will be entitled One Piece Kaizoku Bento Book and will sell for a suggested 1,380 yen or $18.00 in U.S. currency. If they have any friends in Japan or one of the Websites that sell Japanese anime/manga items might get this book for them to purchase. It would be a unique piece for thier collection and it would be fun translating the book to make the recipes.
