TIE Fighter – Short Film

tiefighter

Very cool short film.  If you are a fan of 1980’s style animation you will enjoy it even more.  Great job by: Paul Johnson, artist/animator; Zakir Rahman, music; and Joseph Leyva, sound effects.  Enjoy

What if there was an Empire-focussed short Star Wars animation, drawn with the crazy detail and shading of classic 80s anime that’s all but vanished from Japan nowadays?
Well, I tried my best. Apologies in advance for not living up to Venus Wars standards.
Drawn and animated by yours truly over 4 years’ worth of weekends, with music by the living guitar solo Zak Rahman and sound design by up and coming audio technician Joseph Leyva. Fans of Lucasarts’ seminal 1994 TIE Fighter game may notice a few familiar sights and sounds. That “incoming missile” noise gives me horrible flashbacks to this day…

Special thanks to the good folk at Lucasfilm for encouraging people to get creative and make these kind of projects. It’s thanks to their extremely fan-friendly nature that we can enjoy IMPS: The Relentless, TROOPS, etc.

Don’t support me on Patreon, because I don’t have one! And don’t donate to my Kickstarter, because I don’t have one of those either. Instead, if you enjoyed this, give someone at your workplace, uni, school or whatever a random bar of chocolate or can or Coke or something. Seriously, it’ll probably make their day.
That would totally make my day.

musescore1

Ever have one of those groups you just like.  That’s is happening with me with The Score.  They have released their second single “Catching Fire” and I still love their style.  You have to check them out, I believe the vast majority will like them and want to download their songs.  Anyway enough rambling listen to The Score’s “Catching Fire” through SoundCloud – Richard

“This Moment” is Given to us by Janine and the Mixtape

blackpandaPRjanine1

“This Moment (Eckhart Tolle)” is the latest release from Janine and the Mixtape.  Janine’s voice just captures me from the start.  The transition from the verse to the chorus hit just right to give “This Moment” an extra push with the down beat.  The music video is also enjoyable to watch…great job all around.  Check out “This Moment (Eckhart Tolle)” on their YouTube channel – Richard:

Pulse Trilogy reaches Conclusion

pulse

This series looks to be a good read.  The final installment of Patrick Carman’s Pulse Series, Quake, came out last month.  We have the trailer for the first book here thanks to HarperTeen’s YouTube channel.  If you didn’t catch this one when it came out you might want to go back and check it out.  I’ve placed it on my ever growing reading list.

Scarlette Releases “Helena” Single

musescarlett4

Hope everyone that got to go to SXSW had a great time.  If you are like me you want to attend, but things happen in life.  Anyway Scarlette has been busy and with all of her touring she has also released her second single, “Helena”, from her upcoming EPK Attack of the 6ft Woman.  In “Helena” Scarlette slows in down, but still retains a catchy rhythm and edge.  Check it out through SoundCloud, like her other singles I think you will enjoy it – Richard

“My Relationship” by Nik West

Nik has some attitude, but in a good way.  She’s got a wild style and with “Relationship” a grooving single.  Have fun watching the music video for her single “My Relationship”, featuring Orianthi, through her YouTube channel.  It’s fun and I think you will like it – Richard:
