Altruist Official Trailer from Rene Perez

Altruist

Our friend Rene Perez has been hard at work directing his latest project, The Altruist.  The poster and trailer from The Altruist, looks to be right up my alley.  I love the Punisher and Executioner type characters and this looks similar.  Cant’ wait to check it out.  Thanks to Shasta County Film Commission’s YouTube channel for the trailer and congrats to Rene, looks like a killer movie – Richard:

Rozes featured with Chainsmokers on Late Late Show

blackpandaPRrozes1

We’ve featured Rozes before, but she had the cool experience of being on National television.  The Chainsmokers were on The Late Late Show with James Corden for their song “Roses” that Rozes is featured in.  So check out the footage from the Late Late Show’s YouTube channel to see and listen to Rozes performance – Richard:

Melbourne Teaser Trailer From ShadowStorm Studios

Melbourne

Our friend Vance Major, through ShadowStorm Studios, is gearing up for his Star Trek fan film Melbourne.  In this teaser trailer he is showing off the USS Melbourne that the adventures will center around.  Filming is scheduled to begin later this year, at Starbase Studios.  The starship is very cool looking and I can wait to see what will be coming in 2017.  Here’s the trailer through ShadowStrom Studios YouTube page:

Rosie Carney gives us an “Antidote” for Our Ears

museRosie_Carney_A_Shot.jpg

Rosie Carney is coming to us from Ireland and will be performing at the 2016 SXSW, so if you happen to be there be sure to check out her music.  Glide Magazine has Rosie’s premiere that she wants everyone to check out.  This definitely has a folk feel to it and her voice reminds me of the female leads voice of The Hunts, that we reviewed back in the day.  The single is a slower piece, but Rosie’s voice captivates you from the start.  So check out Rosie Carney’s “Antidote” on Glide’s website: http://www.glidemagazine.com/154499/song-premiere-rosie-carney-antidote/

In this episode the ComicPop Crew takes a look back at 1965, Selma, Alabama.  The struggle and March that potential black voters endured to bring to light the injustice of voting precincts not allowing them to register to vote within the democratic process in the Docu-Drama Selma.

Batman: Bad Blood Trailer

Folk Pop Duo Next Stop Horizon is Sharing Two of Their Music Videos with Us

musenext stop horizon

Next Stop Horizon is a Sweish indie folk/pop duo.  The are sharing with the ComicPop listeners, not one but two of their music videos.  The first one fits our site to a “T” with “Rain on Me”.  The single is very upbeat and catchy, but it’s the music video that hits my sweet spot.  It has spots throughout it of a couple of children dressed up in superhero outfits with capes and all.  You gotta love that!  With their second music video for their single “We’ll Whistle So” slows it down.  With this single they want to draw the listener in through the lyrics and music, plus the variety of instruments in this single is great.  If you live in or plan to attend SXSW the duo is a confirmed performance so check when and where they will be playing and enjoy their music.  Also I have to say I love their picture that we use above.  So thank you to Next Stop Horizon for sharing the music videos for “Rain on Me” and “We’ll Whistle So” through the “tapeterecords” YouTube channel – Richard:

Take a look at the latest from DC Comics.  The new animated feature Justice League vs. Teen Titans.  I have really enjoyed what DC Comics and Warner Bros.
