“S.O.S.” from Sekai no Owari

sekai no owari2

It’s been a while and we said we would continue to spotlight Sekai no Owari because we enjoyed them so much.  So for their spotlight this time we are featuring the singles “S.O.S.” that was the theme for the movie Attack on Titan End of the World.  The music video to “S.O.S.” is filled with vivid imagery and will appeal to many as an “art” video, because of its style. Enjoy Sekai no Owari’s “S.O.S.” music video from their YouTube channel and support them if you can – Richard:

The Blancos Latest “Wild Child”

The Blancos are sharing with the ComicPop Library listeners again with their latest single “Wild Child”.  This one to me has an old style rock beat that several will be able to get into.  Take a few and give “Wild Child”, from the Blancos, a listen through SoundCloud – Richard:

I Am a Hero Trailer

I_Am_a_Hero-159304534-largei am hero

The I Am A Hero, by Kengo Hanazawa, rights have been acquired by Dark Horse Comics and was popular enough to have a live action film based on it open in Japan and the film has already started racking up awards at film festivals.  It has won Grand Prize at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Audience Award and the Jury Prize in the Orient Express section at Portugal’s Fantasporto-Oporto International Film Festival, and Grand Audience Award and Award for Best Special Effects at the 48th Sitges Film Festival in Catalonia, Spain.  So with all this attention maybe we will see a distribution deal for I Am A Hero for the North American market as report by AnimeNews Network.  Here is the live action film’s trailer for their YouTube channel:

Kyle Britton Becomes the “Villain”

mora may agencykyle1

The single “Villain” is being shared with our listener’s from Kyle Britton’s upcoming EP Riddle, scheduled for a June 10 release date.  “Villain” kind of feels like an old western ballad at the beginning and then it shifts to a heavier beat.  However, even the the drums heavier beat it feels like war drums.  It’s a different sound for that I think our you will enjoy, because of the sense of gravity in the single.  Here’s Kyle Britton’s “Villain” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Eric Stimson has posted a cool article with photos on AnimeNews Network about a new Sailor Moon exhibit opening in Japan.  The exhibit opened on April 16 and is scheduled to run through June 19 at Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills Observation Deck.  The exhibit contains giant scrolls drawn by Sailor Moon’s creator Naoko Takeuchi, several other pieces of artwork anime artifacts, manga artifacts, costumes, and memorabilia and collectibles divided among six different rooms.  So if you happen to be traveling in the area and are a Sailor Moon fan you might want to make plans to swing by the exhibit.  Follow the link to additional pictures, of the Sailor Moon exhibit, at AnimeNews Network’s page: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2016-04-17/sailor-moon-exhibit-opens-in-usagi-hometown/.101123

“Give Me More” Pleads Skyes

blackpandaPRskyes

Skyes is sharing their latest single “Give Me More” with the ComicPop listeners.  The single comes in with a simple style and grows throughout the song into a definite electronic feel.  The piano and drum beat opening is really nice and with Dallin Knightly’s voice is really powerful.  The trio should concentrate their sound around Dallin’s voice which can carry the group with it’s clear and strong quality and lightly use the electronics.  I’m interested in hearing more from them and if you are as well Skyes EP Quarks comes out May 6 that this single is from.  Until then enjoy “Give Me More” through SoundCloud – Richard:

Dannika Wants to be “Next to You”

solitaire logodannika

Dannika is sharing with the ComicPop listeners “Next to You” from her upcoming EP For Peaches.  This one will be a little bit of an acquired taste for some people.  It really reminded me of something that would come out of the “Flower Power/Hippie culture.  There is a uniqueness to this single that reminds me of that time period where friends would gather in a field to “relax”.  I think most of you out there will know what I’m alluding to with that term.  Here is Dannika’s “Next to You” through SoundCloud – Richard:
