Adam Jensen is giving the ComicPop listeners a new “Ritual” to listen to. In “Ritual”, from the upcoming EP by the same name, Adam has a nice blend of soul and pop stylings. The verse is the more soul centered aspect of the single, while the chorus hits a more “poppy” sound. “Ritual”, to me, is more of a contemplative single that you just groove to. The next anime film to come from Project Itoh is Harmony. If you are one of the lucky you will actually be able to see it in the theater today or tomorrow (May 17 and 18). Pilgrim Speakeasy is sharing their single “Unbelievable” with our listeners. Pilgrim Speakeasy consider themselves avant pop which with this single you can definitely hear in this single. What the group says in their single is what most of us say to ourselves a lot while shaking our heads. It’s a catchy tune but be forewarned that it does have language in the single, but it isn’t used in a harsh way, but it is throughout the whole single. Some fans for the Power Rangers are not to pleased with Entertainment Weekly‘s pic of the new Power Ranger look for the upcoming feature film. To me I don’t let history get me to down about things. I try to go with the flow so I can enjoy the, in this case, movie. When you think about it though it makes since that the Power Rangers would have armor on because of the creatures they are battling…it gives them that extra layer of protection. And I think the original look might have been this way, but you have to remember this was a Japanese children’s show that probably didn’t have much of a budget so they had to go with the look that they went with. And yes I understand that look is what endears Power Rangers with fans and can feel for you in that regard. I will go in just to have fun.
The single “Talk’ from The Manimals starts out slow and makes you think you are going to get a ballad, but then the band kicks it in high gear and shifts to an almost Punk Rock beat. During the middle of the song the rhythm slows again for dramatic effect and then kicks it again. The music video that The Manimals’ are sharing with ComicPop listeners is what I would call an off the grid dance/party themed video.
