The High Wire puts us “Under a Spell” with their Latest Release

THE HIGH WIRE
“UNDER A SPELL”

PREMIERS ON THE BLUE WALRUS ALONGSIDE CROFTS REMIX &
GARNERS PRAISE FROM BBC
“Under A Spell” is a pure pop song. It goes straight into the bloodstream and stays there. A heady mix of 60s folk rock, 90s soul and early noughties pop, where soaring synths, widescreen acoustic guitars and attacking electro rhythms help drive the song towards it’s euphoric conclusion.
With guest vocals from London soul & gospel legend Nicky Brown (Primal Scream, Madonna) and seasoned soul singer Ladonna Harley-Peters (Florence & the Machine, Groove Armada), sitting perfectly alongside those of band members Alexia Hagen & Tim Crompton, it’s no surprise Alice Levine and Phil Taggart jumped at the chance to give the eclectic track a first spin on Radio 1.
“Under the Spell” is a great single to release during the Halloween season.  It has a popish feel to it, but puts in enough strangeness (with the instrumentals and voice work) to give the song a supernatural or otherworldly feel.  With “Crofts Remix” the song takes on a sound more applicable for a club so people can dance to it.  I can see the remixes purpose and appreciate it, but for myself I like the original better.  Be sure to check both out with the links above.
The High Wire are Alexia Hagen, Ross Forrest and Tim Crompton.
Their new album is due out in early 2014.
