“Ghost” Video by RAJ

RÁJ

Debut Single “Ghost” With Accompanying Video Premieres on Pigeons & Planes
Earns Coveted Next Hype Label from the BBC’s Zane Lowe

Last week, RÁJ’s debut single “Ghost” exclusively premiered via Pigeons & Planes and earned the coveted “Next Hype” label from tastemaker DJ Zane Lowe of BBC Radio One.

Now, RÁJ has again partnered with Pigeons & Planes to premiere the video for “Ghost.”

Shot on location in Budapest, amidst grey skies, rain puddles, and old city streets, it tells the story of a woman whose brittle hands and mournful visage belie the lavish attention she gets from the men around the city.

Much of the video is about movement: trams running through the beautiful cityscape, bus rides, rain drops, walking home from work. But it is also about stasis: about the invisibility we battle on a daily basis, stuck in patterns and relationships and roles that we feel powerless to change.

In other words, the video is about being a ghost. Or, as Heidegger would say, it’s about fallenness. While it might be a little much to call RÁJ a modern-day Heidegger, he’s clearly onto something poignant here.

Museum of the Undead

We have heard from many young adults that they are tired of going through the haunted houses and wanted something else to do for Halloween.

So we put together an event for adults 21 years or older – Museum of the Undead. It’s all about zombies, of course, which is a huge pop-culture phenomena right now.

Details below. Please call with any questions. Thanks.

What: Museum of the Undead

When: Thursday, October 17, 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Where: Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd., Wichita, Kan. 67203, www.exploration.org, www.facebook.com/ExplorationPlace, Twitter: @DiscoverAtEP

Details: A scientific experiment has gone terribly wrong and we need help taking back the museum from a zombie invasion!

Event guests will be led by “survivors” and will learn Center for Disease Control (CDC)-approved survival skills, as well as the science of virology.

All the while, guests will have to keep an eye out for any of the undead lurching about…will guests make it through unscathed??

If guests survive, they can enjoy tasty food, drinks, music and more.

RAJ releases A “Ghost” to the Airwaves

Left-field artist RÁJ is mysterious — even we don’t know who he is. And like Jai Paul or Burial before him, he’s a singular voice, one whose mysteriousness aids his sly, tough to pin down songs.

“Ghost” is a slow burner that draws the sonic hallmarks of beat culture into the realm of actual songcraft, like Bon Iver collaborating with Bibio. As it builds, RÁJ carries the song into high drama territory, with an intensity that sounds like a male Florence Welch.
RAJ likes to play with a the sounds of instruments  in his release of “Ghost”.  This will not be on most people’s radar because of the uniqueness of his sound.  His voice is really clear and a pleasure to listen to.  This is one that after I listened to it I could get into.  If you like experimenting with your music this is definitely one for you.  Give it a listen below by click on the link.

Lots of Love in Book Stores

Lots Of Love’s Jessica Fleischer
Set To Release Children’s Book

‘Little Luna and The Universe’
on September 24th.

Save the date for the book’s launch:
Thursday, September 26th, 6-8pm
at Books and Cookies in Santa Monica.

Five years in the making, Little Luna and the Universe not only teaches children about the bigger picture of the Universe on a scientific level, it also exposes them to spiritual themes of love and oneness that are necessary to fully grapple with the hugeness of our existence.

On the night we meet Little Luna, she dreams herself to a distant place in the Universe.  Far away from everything she knows, she must learn about the Universe before she can go back home and return to wake up in her bed.

She learns about galaxies, the solar system, and the names of all the planets. She also learns about the moon, and that the Universe and everything in it are one.  By the end of her journey, she understands that she is part of that oneness.

The Wyld Premieres Their Newest Single

Complex Premieres Latest Track
‘Odyssey’ From The Wyld

THE WYLDE’S NEW SINGLE

ODYSSEY’

PREMIERING NOW ON

COMPLEX MUSIC

The Wyld were nice enough to give away their debut album, ‘Preface‘, for free on Pigeons and Planes last month. Now they’re premiering their high octane new single, “Odyssey,” on Complex.
Stream it here.

The Wyld have a mix of Rap and Electronic Pop, very interesting.  This New Zealand group has the beats hitting you full force and the vocals are clear so you can enjoy the complete package.  That being said they have a sound that isn’t quite main stream, so it might take a few listens to let their music sink in.  Give them a chance you might find you enjoy them.  Click the links above to stream their song “Odyssey” and the Pigeons and Planes link to listen to their first full album.

New Zealand outfit The Wyld just finished recording Odyssey, along with the rest of their upcoming EP, Abstract, in the Red Bull Studios in Auckland.  Needless to say, the title is a perfect encapsulation of The Wyld’s gracious pairing of ballooning, smoothly layered lyrical flow and fever-pitch rhymes.  The song comes together strand by strand with drum beats, synths, Mo’s raps and Brandon Black’s welcomingly gentle harmonies weaving together a cord of musical adventure.
