Animation Exhibit at Exploration Place for Spring Break
I hope everyone is enjoying their spring breaks. Check Out Velica, Looks Interesting
Thanks to Stacey Aragon for getting in touch with us about this great looking UK comic. The comic is Ken Johnson’s Velica and follows this young women who is seeking revenge for her father’s death. Just by looking at some of the images online it is similar to a Punisher/Jennifer Blood titles. For me this is in my wheel house that I love. I want to get my hands on the six issues that have been printed in the UK, that would be great. But if nothing else on the Team Velica website they have informed everyone that a deal has been signed with Strick 9 Label and Toledo Publishing Group of Chicago, Illinois, to reprint the first six issues for the U.S. market.

Kodansha USA Donates to NY Library
Here, Here to Kodansha Comics USA branch. The company took it upon themselves to help out the Queens library by donated Manga to the library as part of the libraries efforts in recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Classy move Kodansha.
Kumi Shimizu said regarding the donation, “We, the Kodansha USA Group, are delighted to donate our books to help local libraries recover from the damage suffered during Hurricane Sandy. The Japanese people will never forget all the help that the United States provided when Japan was devastated by the Great Tohoku earthquake and tsunami which took place on March 11, 2011, and we’d like to take this opportunity to repay your generosity. This reminded me of the ’80’s or was it ’90’s sound (pretty sure it ’80’s) when the big thing was synthesizers. SXSW Events

Attention All Veronica Mars Fans
The fans have spoken. Warner Bros. that owns the Veronica Mars property made a deal with show creator Rob Thomas that if he could get a $2 Million backing off of KickStarter then a Veronica Mars movie could be made. The KickStarter was a success and has raised above the $2 Million dollar amount. Therefore, plans are in the works to start movie production this summer and be ready for airing in 2014. This shows that with KickStarter fans have another outlet to keep a series alive other than a writing campaign to the studios.
New Pokemon Trading Cards
More TCG news. New cards in the Pokemon Universe will be released on May 18. The set is Pokemon: Black and White – Plasma Freeze and will be a 110 card set that will include EX Cards, ACE SPEC Cards, Trainer Cards and others.
