Batman Rises

ICv2 is reporting that Warner Bros. is stating that Batman: Dark Knight Rises has begun principal photography.  The article also mentions that this film will be filmed using cameras for IMAX theaters, will the filming be for the whole movie though?  If it is then it will be the first movie to be filmed completely with IMAX equipment, but it doesn’t sound like this will happen yet.  Planned release date is currently for July 20, 2012.

Fullmetal Trailer Streaming

Jump to the below website for Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Sei-Naru Hoshi trailers.  There is a set of five different trailers you can watch.  Even though it is in Japanese you patrons will still be interested in watching the trailer.  Why?  Because as popular as Fullmetal Alchemist is, this movie will eventually make it to the U.S. market for sell.  And then libraries will want to pick it up for their Anime Collections.

Amulet gets Writer

ICv2 is reporting that Ron Edwards is currently attached as the writer for a possible adaptation of Kazu Kibuishi’s Amulet movie.  Will Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment obtained the rights to Amulet in 2008 and is working with Warner Bros. as a distributor.  Hopefully this is a good sign and this project can now move forward.  Only time will tell.  Link to the brief article below.

Papercutz puts together some Legos

Librarians that are looking for children graphic novels need to check out Papercutz.  They have been around for a while, however the publisher might have slipped by some libraries.  They are the publishers of the current Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Bionicle, and other titles that are geared for children.  ICv2 is reporting that Papercutz has picked up another Lego title – Ninjago.  These are great for your younger readers.  Follow the link to the full article.

Butchering a Game

This one got by me last year.  Librarians will want to use this as a cross promotional tool, unless they already are.  Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files was made into an RPG  in 2010 and had two supplements, through Evil Hat Productions.  There is another supplement slated for this year.  The game was introduced at the Origins Game Fair in 2010 and was a surprise hit and the two supplements were nominated for Origin Awards in their respected section.  Let your patrons that enjoy gaming know about this title and as I stated you can use it as a cross promotional tool to the books and graphic novels within your libraries.  Follow the link to read the full article at ICv2.
