Sound! Euphonium Trailer

sound

Sound! Euphonium is one of those anime that sometimes you get surprised by.  Yes it is a bit of “slice of life” and “RomCom” which isn’t that unusual.  It’s the theme of the show that’s a bit unusual with the anime being centered around a band class.  So this might be one to consider picking up for you collection if you are looking for something with a different slant in theme.  The third season just came out recently so you will need to pick up seasons one and two for a complete run to date.  Thanks to “GACCOM.de/OTAKUNATION.de” that is streaming the trailer through their YouTube channel:

Parker Harrison Discovers “Love Changes Everything”

cyberpr1love

Parker Harrison is sharing with the ComicPop listeners his single “Love Changes (Everything)”  “Love Changes” is from his upcoming EP Clear Conscience, which will be released May 16.  With “Love Changes” is clearly a homage to the Summer feel good songs of the 1970’s.  With being a child of the ’70’s this hits my wheel house perfectly.  Have fun listening to “Love Changes (Everything)”, through SoundCloud, and give Parker you support come May 16 with his Clear Conscience EP release – Richard

Power Rangers Armor Up

power rangers

Some fans for the Power Rangers are not to pleased with Entertainment Weekly‘s pic of the new Power Ranger look for the upcoming feature film.  To me I don’t let history get me to down about things.  I try to go with the flow so I can enjoy the, in this case, movie.  When you think about it though it makes since that the Power Rangers would have armor on because of the creatures they are battling…it gives them that extra layer of protection.  And I think the original look might have been this way, but you have to remember this was a Japanese children’s show that probably didn’t have much of a budget so they had to go with the look that they went with.  And yes I understand that look is what endears Power Rangers with fans and can feel for you in that regard.  I will go in just to have fun.

The Manimals want to “Talk” with You

city bird publicitymanimals

The single “Talk’ from The Manimals starts out slow and makes you think you are going to get a ballad, but then the band kicks it in high gear and shifts to an almost Punk Rock beat.  During the middle of the song the rhythm slows again for dramatic effect and then kicks it again.  The music video that The Manimals’ are sharing with ComicPop listeners is what I would call an off the grid dance/party themed video.  Here is “Talk”, from their album Seven inspired from their love of Game of Thrones, through Haley Bowery’s YouTube channel for you to check out – Richard:

city bird publicitybencoolen

Bencoolen is sharing with the ComicPop listeners the title track off their upcoming album In Color.  “In Color” is a mix of several different styles that meshes well.  The opening is unexpected and you think big band, but then it goes into a catchy rhythm.  Just by listening, in this single they has a Spanish influence.  The catchy rhythm really makes your head bob to the music and is fun to listen to, check out ‘In Color” through SoundCloud and give Bencoolen some support on May 12, when their album drops – Richard:

“Down to the Water’s Edge” with Ben de la Cour

KoralYoungLogo1ben

“Down by the Water’s Edge” is one that went straight to my sweet spot.  Why you may ask?  Ben de la Cour, at least with this single, has the stylings of The Highwaymen.  If you don’t know of the Highwaymen it was a group of country western singers that were kind of on the fringes of country music, they were Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings.  I always loved their style when they where together or on their own and I think Ben has tapped into that same vibe.  The music video that Ben is sharing with us for “Down by the Water’s Edge” is also something I can see the Highway Men doing as well.  So if you like the Highwaymen you will dig Ben de la Cour’s “Down by the Water’s Edge” from his upcoming album Midnight in Havana.  Thanks to Ben for sharing his music video through his YouTube channel – Richard:
