Wired Minds’ Gives us a “Strange Kind of Love”

museWired Minds

Wired Minds is sharing with the ComicPop Library listeners their music video for the single “Strange Kind of Love”.  The video has a retro feel to it and the single itself does as well.  Wired Minds’ comes to us from across the pond with their sound, which when I first heard their lyrics come in, really hit a strong 1980’s vibe and more specifically a David Bowie vibe.  So good company there.  Enjoy Wired Minds’ “Strange Kind of Love” music video from Christian Volpe’s YouTube channel – Richard:

Here is one that looks a little different, Waking the Merrow by Heather Rigney.  This one is about mermaids and that they are not the most friendly of individuals.  You can pick this one up in a physical format or now download it as an e-book. 75 Years of Green Lantern Mythos

Green Lantern

Catching up on Green Lantern recently and I didn’t realize that the Green Lantern Mythos celebrated their 75th Anniversary in November.  DC Entertainment put together a timeline of the different variations of Green Lantern on their YouTube channel…kind of cool.  Of course I am a Green Lantern fan.

Ep 38 ComicPop Visits with the Director of “A Good Day to Die”, Rene Perez Pt. 1

Rene Perez, the director of A Good Day to Die and the upcoming Playing with Dolls: Bloodlust films joins the ComicPop Crew for a great visit.  We ahve fun discussing the film industry, his films, and a teaser for a person project of Rene’s.

This Visit took place right after a winter storm and Rene was a trooper with the difficulties we had with Skype for Part 1 of the interview, Michelle said it added character to the episode.  For the second part he was gracious enough to connect with us on a different night, however for Part 1 we powered through and still had a fun time!

Music Drops Used:

1) “Scary Music”, theistobias, YouTube, 2010.

2) “Spine Chiller (scary music)”, Black Metal Dash, YouTube, 2011.

Transmission Party has a “Beautiful Breakdown”

city bird publicitytransmission

Transmission Party want the listeners of ComicPop Library to check out the music video to their single “Beautiful Breakdown”.  Right from the start this took me back to a rock ballad from the 1970’s.  It has an endearing quality to the single as well as a eerie quality to it.  When you listen to the single it just draws you in so good job in achieving that.  The music video style they selected fits the song perfectly.  It is shot using old footage and new black and white footage is inter-sparsed throughout.  Great job all the way around and here it is Transmission Party’s music video to “Beautiful Breakdown” from their YouTube channel – Richard:
