Mortal Engines Trailer

We get another entry into the film industry from a novel.  This time it is an adaptation from Philip Reeves novel Mortal Engines.  This is the first of a trilogy that Reeves has wrote and looks to be a very nice looking steam punk/post apocalyptic thriller.  Here’s the trailer through MovieClips Trailers YouTube channel:

Back to the “Rim”

pacificrim-comic

Hopefully this report will come about, at this point it is just a possibility.  Legendary that has the rights to Pacific Rim is looking at doing a four issue comic book mini-series on the title, to be called Tales from the Drift.  Also, Universal is in production of a sequel to Pacific Rim that has a current release date for April 7, 2017.  I know with this movie people either loved it or hated it, but I happened to like the film so I’m excited.

Battleship Trailer

The only genre movie opening this weekend is Universal’s Battleship.  Surprisingly I’m kind of looking forward to seeing this movie.  Thanks to YahooMovies for the following trailer:

New Battleship Trailer

Hasbro wants us to like this movie.  Universal has released a new trailer for the Battleship movie.  To me it looks like a mix of G.I. Joe and Transformers SciFi battle to save the earth from aliens.  This movie might be fun if one goes into it for a fun ride and not looking for the next great movie.  You can almost bet Hasbro will also come out with a version of this game, if they already haven’t.  I know they have a few new versions of Battleship on the store shelves, but I really haven’t looked at them. Thanks to YahooMovies for the follow new trailer.

Will the Mission be Completed

ICv2 is reporting that Universal Pictures has optioned the Image title War Heroes.  The screenplay is being written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.  War Heroes is the product of Mark Millar and Tony Harris.  The title began in 2008, but has not yet been finished.  Maybe if Universal pushes this project the comic series will be completed for a possible release date.
