This will appeal to your patrons that like anime and trading card games. Redakai: Conquer the Kairu is set to debut on Cartoon Network on July 23 at 10:00 a.m. There will also be a tie in trading card game Redakai Lenticular, however these cards are not scheduled until August.
Some Super Rare Cards back in Circulation
Konami has announced that two super rare variant cards, from previous releases, will be included in the Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s: Hidden Arsenal Special Edition. The two cards will be sorted at a one per box ratio. The cards are: “XX-Saber Emmersblade” and “Naturia Pineapple”. The cards are scheduled as a July 12 street date. Any librarians that have patrons into the Trading Card Games can use this as a talking point and possibly be the first to tell them about it.
This Residence is Evil!
This is for all of your patrons that enjoy Trading Card Games. Bandai is set to release Resident Evil Deck Building Game: Outbreak Expansion, during the fourth quarter. With this expansion set new characters will be introduced and the player him or herself can become infected and continue playing as an infected character.
More Pokemon That You Gotta Catch
Let the patrons of your library, that enjoy TCG’s, know that Pokemon:Black and White-Emerging Powers Expansion theme decks will be hitting stores August 17, with booster packs hitting on August 31. Follow the jump it you want to read more.
Resident Evil Playing League
Libraries that have Trading Card Gamers will want to pass this along to them. Resident Evil: Alliance TCG came out in January and proved to be a hit, with an expansion set planned. Because of this, Bandai is planning to release a league play program. Think of the Magic The Gathering & Yu-Gi-Oh league play tournaments. Tell your patrons to ask their local hobby shops if they plan on taking part of this program. Link on over to ICv2’s site for the article.
Duel Masters Gets Another Chance
Anime News Network’s site is reporting that a new Duel Masters will be airing in the States. Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters will be on The Hub, which is a channel that Discovery Communications and Hasbro has recently started. It is stated that it will be released during the 2011-2012 television season. As I remember the first Duel Masters series, this will appeal to the ‘tween patrons in your library, that are also interested in Anime and/or TCG’s. Link on over to the full article below.

Yu-Gi-Oh Gold!
Librarians that have Trading Card Gamers will want to pass this news along to them. Especially if a patron is into Yu-Gi-Oh as a whole. This June Konami is releasing Yu-Gi-Oh Gold Series 4: Pyramids Edition only to hobby retailers (Comic books stores/Gaming stores). Hobby stores will also get 2 new playmats and there will be a third playmat that will only be available at stores that are Official Tournament stores. Jump over to ICv2 for the brief article.
Pokemon Still Going Strong
ICv2 is reporting more 15th Anniversary news, see link below for full article. The 14th and 15th feature films will debut in Japan during the month of July. The titles of the two films are Pokemon: Vintini and the Black Hero: Zekrom and Pokemon: Vintini and the White Hero: Reshiram. These films feature the Legendary Pokemon listed in the titles, which tie into the release of the Pokemon TCG: Black and White set that was mentioned in an earlier post, see second link. When these two films make it to the U.S. to purchase these will be two films librarians will want to purchase to add to their anime collection for all of their Pokemon fans.
Yu-Gi-Oh 3D Movie card pack
If some of your libraries are in the area that the new Yu-Gi-Oh 3D: Bonds Beyond Time movie will be shown let your patrons now about the movie packs.
