A Letter from Lots of Love to their Fans

A Message from LOTS OF LOVE to you:

I am very excited to finally be able to share my very first full-length album ‘From the Start’ with you and the rest of the world.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. It has always had the power to take me to magical places and experience feelings I never knew I had in places I never even knew existed. That’s what good music does.

When I first started writing songs of my own it was the most exciting and transformative feeling in the world!  The first song I ever wrote, ‘It’s Happening’ practically flew out of me around nine years ago. If you listen to lyrics you can kind of tell. The moment I played back my first demo-recording of it, my life had been changed.  From that point on, I knew I was a song-writer.  Now, not only did I have access to the powerful world of listening to great music by other artists, but I realized I also had the power to make music of my own. Song-writing is one of the greatest gifts in the world.  It is an emotional outlet and can be your best friend when you need one. It can also be a fun and rewarding form of self-expression and artistry.

It is my intention with the release of ‘From the Start’ , that this album will find its audience. The music I’ve made over the years has certainly been a gift to me. Now I want to share it with you, and allow it to reach the minds, ears and hearts of all people in this world who will enjoy it.

There are songs on this album that will uplift you, songs that you can listen to when you are sad and need to feel sad a little while longer, and songs that might make you think will probably surprise your ears. I hope you enjoy the music, and please stay in touch with me if you dig it. Thank you!

LOTS OF LOVE,

Jess

And remember to pick up Lots of Love’s new album From the Start, which came out yesterday.  Here is a sample of Lots of Love’s music that Jess was kind enough to let ComicPop Library’s gang so check out “It’s So Hard”.

Ep. 14 of ComicPop Visits with Young Lyons’ Lead Singer John Lyons

Ep. 14 of ComicPop Visits with Young Lyons’ Lead Singer John Lyons

Join us as we visit with John Lyons, lead singer of the band Young Lyons.  During the visit we discuss Young Lyons’ EP Crash Course.  One of our discussion points is the lyrics to the song “Girlfriends Got Me Down”, which centers around the use of an explicit word.  So this is your warning if you are listening in a public place or at work you might want to wear headphones.  However, don’t let this dissuade you from listening to the visit, because it was a great discussion, not just on how lyrics can effect a song and make it have more emotion by using different words, but the bands style, influences and the music industry in general.  We had a great time and enjoyed having John on the show.  You can click the link below to listen to the visit, go to our website, www.comicpoplibrary.com, or catch it on our iTunes feed when it uploads a little later.

I want to thank Karla MacDonald, of the Muse Box, for coordinating this visit.  You can check out their site below along with Young Lyons site and Facebook page.

New Album gives LOTS OF LOVE “From the Start”

Lots of Love

Premieres Her Latest Track

From The Start

Full Length Album out August 27th

Jessica Fleischer has been playing music in some form or another for as long as she can remember. There were years of bedroom demos and small shows around Los Angeles. But now, with the recording and release of her debut album under the moniker LOTS OF LOVE, Jessica is ready to share with the world.

Lots of Love gives me a nostalgic feeling when I listen to the individual singles.  I hear the old rock influence shinning through, but then I will hear a sneak of country mixed in.  To me I’m hearing that mixture (and I might be the only one) and enjoying it.  When I hear Jessica’s voice I get transported back to when songs like “My Boyfriends Back” by The Angels and “Johnny Angel” by Shelly Fabares, but like I said an occasional sneak of like a Crystal Gayle or even some Donna Fargo, where playing on the radio.  So to me this is a winner, something that I haven’t heard personally in a while, so it’s refreshing for me.

Jessica was kind enough to allow us to post the track, “It’s So Hard”, from her new album for our ComicPop listeners. Give it a listen I think you will enjoy it.  So thank you to Jessica for doing this for our listeners and be sure to pick up her album on August 27!

“No, I Won’t Go” Premieres on ArtistDirect
Hey gang I just listened to some of Brick & Mortars singles.  This one is kind of a hard one to pin down for me.  I can hear different influences in the different titles.  In “Bangs” you definitely hear the hard rock influence, but then you have some traditional rock feel and alternative rock in another.  So the band is kind of all over for me, which isn’t a bad thing, it means they have variety on their EP.  What I really enjoy is that no matter what the style you can clearly hear and understand the lead vocals.  Kind of hard to do with some of the styles they perform.
Asbury Park, NJ’s Brick & Mortar are Brandon Asraf (bass, vocals) and John Tacon (drums, samples, vocals). The duo may have chosen to name themselves after building essentials, but at this point, they’re veritably blowing up.

New High Wire Music Video

THE HIGH WIRE

LNOE Video
Released 29 July 2013
Starring Ray Winstone
Directed by Mat Whitecross

This video and song are not going to make you want to get up and dance, but not all songs are meant to do that. This is one that makes you slow down and think. Check out The High Wire’s music video here or click on the link below to show them your support.

To coincide with the release of LNOE as a single on 29 July 2013, The High Wire are now sharing the official video. Directed by Mat Whitecross (Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, The Road To Guantanamo, Spike Island) and starring Ray Winstone, the video is set against the backdrop of Whitecross’ stunning film noir Ashes (2013) – an engrossing rumination on love over time, plagued by unanswered questions and lingering sadness.  Beautifully shot, it centers on Alzheimers-afflicted Frank (Winstone), whose surroundings are constantly changing and out of focus. Highlighting Frank’s condition and past relationship with his wife (played by Lesley Manville), the video perfectly suits the darker emotional undercurrent of the track. By turns abstract and heart wrenching, the video shares the apocalyptic bent of Fight Club’s skyscraper climax, fitting for a song as massive as LNOE.

Ghost Loft Astronaunt Remix

JOEL COMPASS

“ASTRONAUT (GHOST LOFT REMIX)”
OUT NOW

The London-born singer, songwriter, and producer Joel Compass offers an impressive combination of undeniable talent and huge commercial appeal. His latest track, “Astronaut,” got the Ghost Loft treatment this week, and now you can take it in. It’s got all of Ghost Loft’s trademarks – those spacey synths most especially. And don’t worry, it’s still got that awesome falsetto courtesy of Joel Compass. How could it not?
This is one where it makes me feel like I’m in a dream sequence.  “Astronaut” is a slower song and isn’t one that will have you up and dancing like crazy.  It is one were I could see danced to as a slow song where you have your partner in close and sharing this strange yet graceful dream.  I don’t know if I could listen to it multiple times in a row, but it is unique enough that I would have a place on my playlist for slower songs.

Anna Rose’s New Album

The Enchanting Anna Rose Returns With
Behold A Pale Horse
Available August 6

When I listen to the two songs above they have two distinct feels.  Some artists stay in one grove, but Anna changes it up a little.  On “Behold a Pale Horse” to me it has a Folk feel to it with some Southern Rock mixed in for good measure.  Then you shift gears a little for “Beautiful World”.  “Beautiful World” feels like a Pop Country song.  I enjoyed both tracks and I like that the music doesn’t over power Anna’s voice.  It has a nice clear sound to it.
Check out the video links above and then see if she will be in your area below.

Art Decade’s Release from Upcoming Album

Art Decade Debuts Forceful New Single

“No One’s Waiting” on Consequence of Sound

This song isn’t a head banger or a fast pop song nor is it a really slow ballad.  “No One’s Waiting” falls somewhere in between.  I love the background music and the feel it gives to the single.  This is one that could be featured real easily in a movie sound track.  Give it a shot by clicking the link above, I think you will enjoy it.

“No One’s Waiting” is from Art Decade’s upcoming LP due out September 2013
