Loki get center stage in Joanne M. Harris latest novel, The Gospel of Loki. With Marvel bring interest back into the Asgardian legends this one looks interest since it is from Loki’s point of view. Thanks to GollanzBooks YouTube channel for the following trailer:
This is interesting. IDW Publishing is trying something new in the collectible market with the Star Wars license. They are producing blind packs for Star Wars Marvel minicomics, 3-D posters, 3-D glass, and trading cards that are puzzle pieces to form comic covers. All this for $3.99. Sounds good until you look at the break down of what’s in the packet. You have a chance to get one of the six mini comics, a chance to get one of the six 3-D posters, a pair of 3-D glass. Doesn’t sound to bad yet, but then you get to the trading cards. You get a chance of getting 1 of 36 cards. That’s going to be a lot of duplicates to get a full set of the 36 trading cards.
Don’t get me wrong everything looks neat and all and there will be collectors that love this, but for my wallet it’s just beyond my means.
Deadpool looks to be done right. Again this looks like it’s going to be fun! He also gets a dig in on his role in the Green Lantern movie.
Marvel’s latest Netflix series, Jessica Jones, is set to debut in the fourth quarter of 2015. Not to far away, but could also mean in December. I bet it’s sooner though. The series will star Kristen Ritter, in this next Hell’s Kitchen installment.
Are you ready for more Guardians of the Galaxy. If so I hope you like animation because that is the vehicle until a new live action movie is done. The Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will debut on Disney XD on September 26. Check out the teaser that IGN’s channel on YouTube has streaming:
Growing up my parents always picked up the DC Comics for me. So I’m more of a DC guy instead of a Marvel guy even though I love Marvel as well. But man I love see the small screen and big screen coming to life with what to me are my heroes. So you knew I couldn’t let the weekend come without posting the trailer to the new Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that debuted at ComicCon. All I can say is it looks good. Seems to pick up within the Man of Steel battle, with Bruce Wayne present in Metropolis at the time. So that was a nice tie-in. Plus Batman has always been about protecting the people even to include other heroes that might turn. Check out Justice League: Tower of Babel for this concept. Marvel has evidently gotten to big and is pulling a DC move with the merging of worlds in the 2015 Secret Wars titles. Sounds like what DC had to do with their Infinite Crisis story and Convergence story. Even Star Wars had to do something like this with it’s Expanded Universe that was axed and continuity started again. Marvel is trying to tap into all the adults that still love to color. I myself have to admit to coloring in a coloring book every now and again. Marvel is producing three to test the market over the next year. The first coloring book will be out in October for $7.99 and will be entitled Avengers: Age of Ultron Coloring Book and will have 72 pages of artwork from professional artists in the industry. Then in February 2016, Marvel will release Little Marvel by Skottie Young Coloring Book and the last coloring book will be released in May 2016, Civil War Coloring Book. These are meant for adult audiences and I can see people buying two…one to save the artwork and one to actually color in, but the question will be will adults pay $7.99 for a coloring book? We will see.
