Marvel’s website has placed the X-Men Anime trailer up on their site to share. Now you can just click on the link below without going to another webpage to see the trailer. Again I would expect this to eventually hit our shores and when it does it would be a cool addition to your anime collection.
Fantastic Four Variant
Librarians can show some interest in the comic book medium with their graphic novel readers. Ask your patrons if they were lucky enough to get the cover variant of Fantastic Four #587 that sports the autograph of the writer of the issue, Jonathan Hickman. Follow the link to Marvel’s site for the full article.

X-Men Anime
This will be of interest to librarians working on their anime collection. Anime New Network’s site has a brief article about the X-Men anime starting on Japanese television channel Animax. The article also mentions that Animax is already airing Ironman and Wolverine animes. These are not available for purchase yet. However, with these being U.S. properties I can see these eventually collected and distributed in the United States (dubbed and subbed). I could be wrong with my speculation, but I would definitely keep these writing down and in the back of your mind for a possible future anime purchase. Follow the link to Anime News Network and there will be an image of X-Men’s Cyclops, pictured above. Click this image and it will take you to Animax’s site where you can see the trailer/commercial for X-Men.

Marvel & Oscar Crossing Paths
Yahoo has a nice article about how many past and present Oscar Nominees are taking rolls in comic book movies. They are from Thor: Natalie Portman; Kenneth Branagh, Director; Adriana Barraza; and past winner Anthony Hopkins. From X-Men First Class is Jennifer Lawrence and from Avengers: Mark Ruffalo; Jeremy Renner; Robert Downey Jr.; and Samuel L. Jackson. Pretty good cast of talent hopefully this will bode well for these three movies. Time will tell…Follow the link to the full article by Matt McDaniel.

Marvel now has Pixar
Pixar Magazine is the first Disney/Pixar title to be solicited by Marvel Entertainment. This is a transition from being published by Boom Studios. Boom Studios is stating it will retain the classic Disney characters, but one has to wonder when that will change as well since Disney now owns Marvel Entertainment. Follow the link to ICv2’s article.
Marvel Fears Itself
Here is Marvel’s next big company event for 2011, “Fear Itself”. After it’s all done then libraries can start purchasing the collected editions, which will be a few months down the road. Follow the link for the short article on Marvel’s website.
First Look at New Movie Spider-Man Costume
Marvel’s site has posted the first look of Spider-Man’s new costume for the upcoming summer movie. Librarians could put this as a screen saver on your Teen/Young Adult computers to draw interest to the movie as well as for your graphic novel collections. Follow the link to the short article.

From Fantastic Four to FF
The Fantastic Four is no more and according to Marvel’s website Spider-Man is joining the FF team. What is FF? Evidently it is the new name for the team – Future Foundation. To me personally the costumes leave a lot to be desired for, but I’m only one person others will like the costumes. For the complete article – link below.
Marvel.1 Promotional
Marvel’s website has an article by Chris Arrant about Marvel’s “Marvel.1” promotional. Librarians that have patrons that enjoy the comic book medium need to let them know they need to check out their local comic book stores for a possible savings! Marvel’s “.1” promotion is a month long promotional that some comic shops are going the extra mile on. Some stores are purchasing enough of the variety of titles that with their discount they are offering an in-store additional promotional of costumers being able to purchase these issue at just $1.00 instead of the $2.99 price point. Below is a link to the full story.
