Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Releasing
Marvel’s site is sharing a behind the scenes video for the release of Avengers: Earth’s Mightest Heroes series. The seriesis available today, April 26th and watch the video below.
Upper Deck Teams up with Marvel
For librarians that have patrons that like comic books and trading cards will want to share this information. True most patrons interested in these two collectibles will be the same, but their might be a few that just collect one type of collectible. For those patrons that only collect one type share with them that Upper Deck is producing a trading card series that when put together will form comic pages that tale the story of the Avengers: Kree-Skrull War. Boom not Soliciting Classic Disney Titles
For librarians ordering classic Disney comics from Boom Studios they will need to look elsewhere now. ICv2’s site is reporting that Boom has no solicitations for July for any of the classic Disney characters. However, librarians don’t groan to much. I believe that Marvel will be picking these titles up, since Disney owns Marvel to keep the publishing in-house. Boom still has the Rescue Rangers, Ducktales and Darkwing Duck titles, but I wouldn’t be surprised that when the license agreements are up Disney will move them over to their Marvel publishing branch.
Ultimate Spidey Gets New Look
Here is a talking point for librarians to use with your comic book fans. In Ultimate Spider-Man the current storyline is the “Death of Spider-Man”. Marvel’s website is reporting that their will be a new Spider-Man costume and a new character under the mask. Remember when you are talking to your patrons that this storyline is taking place in the Ultimate Universe, not the regular Marvel Universe. Link over to the brief article.

Foo Fighters take on Thor
For librarians that have patrons that enjoy Thor, but also the band Foo Fighters can use this as a talking point. Foo Fighters latest song “Walk” will be played in a scene in the upcoming Thor movie and over the end credits. Follow the link to ICv2 for the brief article.
Fantastic Cake!
Hopefully you didn’t miss it, but if you did maybe you can catch it in reruns. What am I talking about. Evidently this last Sunday Food Network’s Last Cake Standing had a Fantastic Four theme. Let your patrons that are comic fans know about this because otherwise they might not catch it. And the way Food Network operates there will be a chance to catch it in a rerun. So check your listings.

Thor: Tales of Asgard Animated Movie
Thanks to Marvel for posting a clip to the upcoming Thor: Tales of Asgard. This animated, straight to DVD/Blu-Ray, movie is slated for a May 17 release date. Libraries that have fans of Thor and animation in general will want to let them know about the new movie and if your library will be getting it so they can keep an eye for when it hits your shelves.
