Axe has teamed up with the release of X-Men:Days of Future Past for a marketing promo. It’s not quite as cool as some of the marketing promos in Japan, but they are trying. Inside the X-Men themed package you get an exclusive poster from the movie. The set will put you back about $10.00.

On the site, on the left hand bar, is a search box so you can put in your location and it will locate the nearest comic book store retailer so you can attend on Saturday.
Also, as I mentioned in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 post, you can see the movie Friday and attend FCBD on Saturday or do FCBD on Saturday and that afternoon or evening go see Amazing Spider-Man 2.
This is the only wide release movie happening this weekend. You can see this two ways. See it Friday before Free Comic Book Day and then on Saturday go to your local comic book store or do Free Comic Book Day on Saturday at your local comic book store and then that afternoon or evening go see Amazing Spider-Man 2. If you didn’t already know, Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes out this weekend. Their are other limited release movies coming out this weekend, but it looks like all of the other wide release movies took this weekend off to give Capt. a solo run for a new wide release movie. Marvel/Disney strikes a deal with New York and Netflix. In the deal filming will begin on four Marvel series: Daredevil; Jessica Jones; Luke Cage; Iron Fist; plus a mini-series to wrap up the first season of all four of these series entitled Defenders. All told it will be approximately 60 episodes total and Netflix will role out the series in 2015.
If you didn’t watch Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night you missed the premiere trailer to Marvel’s next movie Guardians of the Galaxy. No fear though The Marvel UK YouTube channel has it for us to share with you. This looks like so much fun!
Marvel and Mad House are teaming up again for another animated feature. The new feature is Avengers Confidential: Black Widow and Punisher. Release date is slated for March 25. What most people believed would happen is going to happen. In 2015, the Star Wars comic books will be back under the Marvel Entertainment Banner. In a business sense this makes all the sense in the world. Disney now owns both Marvel and LucasFilm, so this move will have the properties under their control. Dark Horse Comics has done a great job over the past 20 plus years and we thank them for their work. Now fans must get ready for the transition, but we have 12 months.
Lucasfilm and Marvel Join Forces to Publish Star Wars Comics
The Star Wars Universe comes to Marvel Comics in 2015!
The Walt Disney Company’s Lucasfilm Ltd. and Marvel Entertainment are joining forces to bring new Star Wars adventures to readers across the galaxy, with Marvel granted exclusive rights to create and publish Star Wars comics and graphic novels beginning in 2015.
The agreement marks a homecoming for the Star Wars comic books. Marvel Comics published the first Star Wars comic book, STAR WARS #1, in March 1977, which went on to sell more than 1 million copies. Marvel Comics published its STAR WARS series for nine years. In 1991, Dark Horse Comics took over the license, publishing fan-favorite titles like Dark Empire and Star Wars: Legacy. Last year, Dark Horse released The Star Wars #1, an adaptation of George Lucas’ original rough-draft screenplay for the film, garnering rave reviews and national media attention and ranking among the top-selling Star Wars comics of all time.
“Dark Horse Comics published exceptional Star Wars comics for over 20 years, and we will always be grateful for their enormous contributions to the mythos, and the terrific partnership that we had,” said Carol Roeder, director of Lucasfilm franchise publishing, Disney Publishing Worldwide. “In 2015, the cosmic adventures of Luke, Han, Leia and Chewbacca will make the lightspeed jump back to Marvel, to begin a new age of adventures within the Star Wars universe.
“We here at Marvel could not be more excited to continue the publication of Star Wars comic books and graphic novels,” said Marvel Worldwide Publisher and President, Dan Buckley. “The perennial brand of Star Wars is one of the most iconic in entertainment history and we are honored to have the opportunity to bring our creative talent pool to continue, and expand Star Wars into galaxies far, far away.”

Warner Bros. has announced that Gal Gadot will be in the next Superman movie, portraying Wonder Woman. That means that the Big Three DC Comics Heroes will be in this movie (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman). Sounds interesting and we all know that Warner Bros. is trying to get into a franchise set around the Justice League as Disney has done with Marvel Entertaiment’s Avengers franchise with individual movies around the main movie. The movie is scheduled to be released July 17, 2015.
