We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Boom! Studios have picked up the rights to FX’s Sons of Anarchy. The projected distribution date is set for September. Once enough material is published you can expect a graphic novel, which will probably be in the first or second quarter of 2014. Just by seeing the show a few times this title will probably be placed in the “Mature or Adult” Collection.
Former President Bill Clinton has provided a blurb for the back cover of March Book One graphic novel. The trilogy is based on the life of Congressman John Lewis through the civil rights movement. How many people whether a book, movie, or a graphic novel get a Presidential endorsement. Not many, great job Top Shelf. Look for the first book this August.
Here is where you know Marvel Entertainment is owned by Disney. It has been announced that on September 4, Marvel will release an original graphic novel based on the ABC series Once Upon A Time. To be honest April and I love this series and the graphic novel will be added to the collection at the library because titles like these are great to use for cross-promotion within a library, because we will be adding the first season of Once Upon a Time to the library’s collection as well.
Ciro Correia has created a graphic novel for your digital collection, entitled The Piano, Pt. 1: The Dreamer. It is available now from amazon.com for your Kindle. This book looks to be about a young boy utilizing a piano to escape from his undesirable reality and enters into another reality full of wonders. ABC and Marvel are teaming up for a third Storm title. However, instead of it being an original graphic novel like the first two titles, this will be a mini-series first and then I am positive it will be collected into a graphic novel. The mini-series is entitled, Castle: A Calm Before a Storm. Be sure to put this on your purchase list for when it is distributed as a GN.
