Let all your gamers know that Pokemon is having a new expansion come out on May 9. The new expansion is called Pokemon: Black & White – Dark Explorers. The expansion deck will have 100 cards to include six new “Pokemon-EX” cards. The expansion will have theme decks at $11.99 and booster packs at $3.99.

Let all your Marvel and TCG fans know about the new, Upper Deck, Marvel Trading Card Game Superhero Squad. This product is geared for the younger fans, but your older fans that are into collecting different TCG’s might be interested in this set as well.
Magic Cards with Comics
Remember to let your TCG fans about the Magic the Gathering, Wizard of the Coast, cards that are packed with IDW’s Magic the Gathering mini series. The cards are pictured above, “Electrolyze” and “Feast of Blood” respectfully.
Comic-Con Documentary
For those of us that will never get to Comic-Con, Comic-Con Episode IV A Fan’s Hope might be as close as we get. The documentary will have a very limited release and will get most of it’s money from Blu-Ray/DVD sales. This would be one for a library to get, so patrons that have expressed an interest in the convention can see what it would be like. Gaming Art at the Smithsonian
If your library is in the D.C. area you will definitely want to let your gamers know about this upcoming exhibit at the Smithsonian Art Museum. During March 16 – September 30 the Smithsonian will have an exhibit entitled “The Art of Video Games”. During it’s opening weekend they will be having an additional event “GameFest”. During “GameFest”, on March 17, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. the Art Museum will host Metal Gear Solid’s game series designer Hideo Kojima in the McEvoy Auditorium. Skylanders are Sky High
Yahoo reports that six chase figures of Skylanders sold for over $1,000. I’m currently working on episode 13 and we have 14 and 15 waiting in the wings and in episode 14 ComicPop Library reviews Skylanders. As the article says if people are paying this amount it is definitely a hit at this time. We’ll see over the next year or two if it has staying power.

Another Zombie Themed Game
Warner Bros. is bring the world of gaming Lollipop Zombie later this year. This game is definitely not for children. However, for your older gamers (16 and up) will probably get a kick out of this game. It is reminiscent of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. It has the cheerleader aspect, but with zombies not vampires. While it is a horror game it is full of funny dialogue. Thanks to YouTuber “gamespot” for the trailer below.
