This story is one you will want to pass along to your gaming patrons. CyberConnect2 is developing a “.hack concept” mobile role playing game, called Guilty Dragon. It will be available in Japan for the Android and iOS devices. After the Japanese release the company is planning on a European and Amercian release. No specific dates are given for any of the releases. So have you gamers keep an eye out for this game.

The new exhibit, in Wichita, Kansas’ Exploration Place, is going to be entitled “Videotopia”. This collection is a traveling exhibit that gives the history of the video game and has several video games on display that any gamer will know and recognize. Even those that aren’t hard core gamers will recognize games from their past. The exhibit will open, this Saturday, September 29 and run through January 1, 2013. So start making your plans to attend! Let all your Pokemon fans know that the next Pokemon movie will be shown on Cartoon Network on December 8th. The movie is Pokemon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice. Here is one title your library might want to consider picking up for you video game collection. One Piece Pirate Warriors will be available for the PS3 platform in Europe, September 21 and in North America, September 25. One Piece is just one of those titles that everyone is still enjoying. There will be more Pokemon cards coming in November. Librarians that have gamers will want to pass this along. The cards are part of the Pokemon, Black & White: Boundaries Crossed expansion decks. There will be 140 new cards, 4 ACE SPEC cards, and 6 Pokemon-EX cards with this set. The cards will be available in theme decks and booster packs. So go out and “catch them all!”
For libraries that have Yu-Gi-Oh gaming there’s a new box coming out, Yu-Gi-Oh: Return of the Duelist. The pack is scheduled for release on September 25. It will come with three booster packs and 1 or 2 super rare cards, either “T.G. Hyper Librarian” or “Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction” card. The suggested retail price will be $9.99. Let your TCG gamers now so they can start looking for the boxes or this could be something the library uses as a give-away during one of the your Yu-Gi-Oh gaming events.
Mass Effect: Paragon Lost will be one that librarians will want to consider strongly to place within their anime collections. It will appeal to the anime/animation fans and also to your video gamers. Librarians will want to let their trading card gamers (especially W0W gamers) know about the upcoming World of Warcraft promo card. Cryptozoic will be releasing the promo card “The Well of Eternity”, at participating retailers, on October 2. This promotion is to support the upcoming Timewalkers: War of the Ancients launch. Let your TCG gamers know so they can contact their retailers to see if the can pick up this card.
Dark Horse Comics will be publishing The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia Encyclopedia. It is scheduled for release on January 16, 2013. The Encyclopedia will be a full history of Zelda, it will be in color and have an introduction by Shigeru Miyamoto. This is one that will be of interest for your Zelda players and video gamers as well.
