We are just having fun reviewing and discussing comic books, graphic novels, manga, anime/animation, music and movies that we have recently read, listened to or watched.
Dynamite is bringing James Bond 007 to the comic book world. Dynamite is always good about packaging their series up into graphic novel form. So if you enjoy floppies you can get them that way, but if you are wanting the collected addition for libraries give it a few months and Dynamite will deliver for you.
Nancy Collins has inked a deal to write the Vampirella series from Dynamite Entertainment. For those not sure of who Nancy Collins is her series Sunglasses After Dark featuring the Sonja Blue character will probably sound familiar. Nancy over in a post on ICv2 says she wants to bring Vampirella back to her horror roots and make it a darker story. For me I hope this happens, because at times writers forget about the horror background and make it more of an adventure story. If you have been keeping up with the Warlord of Mars graphic novels the third volume of Dejah Thoris: The Boora Witch will be available this week to add to your collections.
Dynamite Entertainment has licensed Grimm, the NBC television series. Starting in 2013 Dynamite will begin publishing comic books and graphic novels based on the series. This would be a great cross promotional for your library’s Television Series collection and Graphic Novel collection.
This week’s spotlight is on YouTuber malpercio6. The AMV that was created takes the song “Dynamte” performed by Taio Cruz and edits it around clips from several anime. The editing was done very cleanly. The cuts from scene to scene were done with the bass (drum) beat of the song. Black and white imagery and images of malpercio6’s own design (mainly stars with the words written within the stars) worked to great appeal. The song itself is just a great upbeat song and no matter what you do, I beat you head will be moving to the beat. Great job malpercio6. In the Saturday evening edition of Asahi Shimbun paper, Naruto manga creator, Masashi Kishimoto, stated at the end of an interview that Naruto is “rising towards its climax.” The end is already set in his mind, and the story is “racing headlong in that direction.”

Dynamite Entertainment’s Lone Ranger, Vol. 2: Hard Country is out this week for everyone to purchase. Since there are not to many western graphic novels this would be a nice addition to your collection.
Here is the new Zorro: Masked Avenger Graphic Novel from Dynamite Entertainment. This is one that you will want for your graphic novel collection. Introduce this generation to Zorro, which is one of those great titles that crosses genres with being a superhero/western comic.
Dynamite Entertainment is releasing a new art book that libraries can purchase either for their art collection or graphic novel collection. The Art of Howard Chaykin is written by Robert Greenberger and is a 200 page hard cover volume. This should be able to be pre-ordered because it is scheduled to be released during the month of December.
