Disney Debut of Marvel Universe
On April first Disney XD will be debuting it’s Marvel Universe block. The core show will be Ultimate Spider-Man along with other shows and segments from Marvel Entertainment. For those that have the XD channel in their packets have fun watching. For those that don’t most libraries will probably pick up the shows when they become available for their animation section. Come into our Secret World
This is one for the whole family. Disney is releasing The Secret World of Arrietty. The anime is based on the novel The Borrowers, by Mary Norton. When you visit with your patrons remember this will appeal to your Japanese Anime fans since it originates from Studio Ghibli in Japan. Thanks to YahooMovies for the following trailer.
Calling all Disney Otaku
All of your library’s Disney fans will want to check their local theaters to see if they will be showing the release of Beauty and the Beast in 3-D. This is one of Disney’s most popular movies and I can see several families going to see it again with their children. Thanks to YahooMovies for the trailer.
Visit a Secret World
Disney is scheduled to release The Secret World of Arrietty February 17. The anime movie is from Studio Ghibli, which Disney has had a strong relationship through the years. The movie is based on the children’s book The Borrowers by Mary Norton. This is one that libraries will want to pick up for it’s collection when it becomes available. Marvel in the Mouse’s House
Marvel’s site has announced that our friends in California might want to schedule some dates on their calendars. On August 19-21 at the Anaheim Convention Center will be the location for Disney’s D23 2011. On Saturday of that weekend, 20th, the stage will be given over to Marvel Studio’s President, Production Kevin Feige and some cast members of the Avengers movie. Joe Quesada, Marvel Chief Creative Officer, will also be in attendance.

Ultimate Disney
Marvel’s site has a brief interview with Drake Bell who will be voicing Spider-Man in the new animated series. Disney XD will have Ultimate Spider-Man on its schedule for 2012. Another example of how Disney is trying to get the teen male ratings that they have been anxious for.
