Vampslyvania Card and Dice Game

vamps

We just had a great interview with the creator of the new card and dice game Vampsylvania.  Those that have been long time listeners will recognize the creator, C. Michael Hall.  Michael is one of our friends that submitted this on KickStarter to see if there would be interest and he received tremendous support.  We are working to have the interview up by this Friday.  There is still time left to support Vampsylvania by jumping over to KickStarter and making a pledge: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/115666883/vampsylvania-a-card-and-dice-game-of-cute-cartoon?ref=nav_search  .  Congrats to Michael and thank you for coming on the show with the ComicPop Crew.

SLEEPLUST Invites Us to listen to “My Place”

SleepLust-10

SLEEPLUST invites the ComicPop listeners to check out their single “My Place” from their self titled EP that was release in November.  SLEEPLUST is a synth/pop group that begins their single calm and then ramps it up for the chorus.  It’s a cool back and forth that they have established with this single.  This trio has had their music featured on MTV, VH1, E!, and Oxygen, so they are well on their way to being in everyone’s circle of interests.  SLEEPLUST is sharing “My Place” with the ComicPop listeners through SoundCloud, so we want to thank them for doing this and be sure to check out you digital downloaders to support them and their self titled EP – Richard:

Last Man on the Moon Trailer

last man

For all you NASA enthusiasts this will be a documentary film you will want to see.  Last Man on the Moon is released this week, but since it is a smaller film it will only be in limited theaters.  However, when it hits the market you will want to pick this one up for your library.  Thanks to moviemaniacsDE YouTube channel for the following trailer:

“It Won’t Be Long” Single from Laura Jean Anderson

Laura_2_0

Laura Jean Anderson is sharing with the ComicPop listeners her single “It Won’t Be Long”, from her A Righteous Girl EP, which comes out March 4.  Laura has what I consider a smoky voice.  It’s not a heavy smoky voice, but it has an element of smokiness to it.  With this alone listeners will gravitate to her music, because that type of voice captivates many people.  The style of the single “It Won’t be Long” is in that folk/rock area of music.  This would fit comfortably in a country listeners playlist, but she has that rock feel that will have crossover appeal as well.  Thanks to Laura for sharing “It Won’t Be Long” with us through SoundCloud and watch you digital music vendors to pick up her full EP A Righteous Girl – Richard:

Blancos’ Music Video for “BKCBD”

blackpandaPRblancos

The Blancos are making their EP debut with Broken Kids.  They are sharing with ComicPop their music video for the single “BKCBD” from the EP.  This single is one that will surprise people.  Parents will probably here the lyrics and go crazy because of the mature content.  However, this single has a beautiful rhythm and the lyrics even though rough are telling a powerful story, because their are probably several kids that think this and many more that are living it (“BKCBD”/ Broken Kids Chasing Broken Dreams).  The music video has a very cinematic feel to it and gives additional weight to the single.  The Blancos are going to be at SXSW so if you are there during their session stop in to check them out.  Until then here is their “BKCBD” music video from their YouTube channel that you can enjoy – Richard:

Brooke Forman’s Music Video for “Lioness”

city bird publicitybrooke

Brooke Forman gives us “Lioness”.  With “Lioness” their is a nice steady beat that is the structure of the single, it’s not fast but it’s not slow either.  Then with the other instruments and how they are being played and with Brooke’s voice (her voice has a lilt to it that I can’t place) gives this song a little bit of an international flare.  Thanks to Brooke for sharing with us her music video, for “Lioness”, through her YouTube channel and enjoy – Richard:
