Librarians might want to tell their Trading Card Gamers (specifically Yu-Gi-Oh gamers) about Kanomi’s next release. Coming in October, Kanomi is releasing the Yu-Gi-Oh, Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years binder. The binder will have 58 cards, which 28 will be foil cards. Rumored cards that come with the binder are 7 exclusive cards to the binder, 3 sacred beast cards and 3 Darkloid monsters (these monsters were previously only available as championship prizes). New Yu-Gi-Oh Set
Here is what some of your gamers will be talking about shortly. Scheduled for release tomorrow, Tuesday, is the new booster packs Yu-Gi-Oh Generation Force. The set will contain 100 cards, which will include two of the most powerful XYZ Monsters “Tiras Keeper of Genesis” and “Adreus Keeper of Armageddon”. Redakai Booster Packs
Another story for the gaming crowd. It has been announced by ICv2 that Redakai: Conquer the Kairu TCG is getting a “Metacharged” expansion set. It will have 75 new monsters and have a ratio of out of 11 cards there will be one rare and one super rare card per pack. There will also be Gold Packs that will only have 6 cards, which will have the same rare and super rare cards, but will also have a Gold Pack rare card. The expansion packs are due out this October.
Tournament Numbers Up
Here is some interesting numbers for libraries that have gaming fans. ICv2 spoke with Yumi Hoashi, VP of Konami Digital Entertainment, and she reports that Yu-Gi-Oh tournament participant numbers are up for 2011. The Regional Qualifiers was up 27% and the Championship Series was up 17%. This might be something to consider and possibly make libraries think about hosting game play for the different trading card games as events.
WoW Decks

New TCG For Star Trek
Librarians can let their patrons that enjoy Trading Card Gaming and also Star Trek might mention this new deck coming out. Bandai has announced, but has not given an exact release date yet, of a Star Trek Deck Building Game with a suggested price of $39.99. The deck will feature characters from the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series and movies. Bandai is planning on demos of the deck at the following conventions: GenCon; Anime Expo; and ComicCon.
Redakai To Debut
This will appeal to your patrons that like anime and trading card games. Redakai: Conquer the Kairu is set to debut on Cartoon Network on July 23 at 10:00 a.m. There will also be a tie in trading card game Redakai Lenticular, however these cards are not scheduled until August.
Some Super Rare Cards back in Circulation
Konami has announced that two super rare variant cards, from previous releases, will be included in the Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s: Hidden Arsenal Special Edition. The two cards will be sorted at a one per box ratio. The cards are: “XX-Saber Emmersblade” and “Naturia Pineapple”. The cards are scheduled as a July 12 street date. Any librarians that have patrons into the Trading Card Games can use this as a talking point and possibly be the first to tell them about it.

This is for all of your patrons that enjoy Trading Card Games. Bandai is set to release Resident Evil Deck Building Game: Outbreak Expansion, during the fourth quarter. With this expansion set new characters will be introduced and the player him or herself can become infected and continue playing as an infected character.
